Stein, Elias M., 1931 - Belgian American mathematician. Born in Antwerp, Belgium, In 1941, he moved to the United States. In 1952, he was an American. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 1951 and received a doctorate in 1955. He worked in Massachusetts Institute of technology, University of Chicago, Princeton Institute of advanced studies and other universities and research institutions. In 1963, he became a professor at Princeton University. His main contributions are in the field of function theory. He has written works on singular integrals, differential properties of functions and Euclidean spaces He is a monograph on harmonic analysis and so on
