Fang Chen (1878-1945), named Yihuai, was born in Tongcheng county. In the late Qing Dynasty. Diligent and studious, well read, rigorous scholarship. He has been engaged in education all his life.
In 1909, Yan Fu, the supervisor of Anhui University, was employed as a teacher of Chinese. Later, the provincial first and fourth teachers' colleges were employed as Chinese teachers. He was the principal of Tongcheng middle school from 1920 to 1922. After resigning, he successively served as a teacher of Anqing senior high school and Liuyi middle school. In the meantime, he was a member of the provincial council. In 1926, he served as the director of education in Tongcheng county. In 1926, he also maintained Tongzhong school affairs. During the Anti Japanese War, although Chen was old and frail, he continued to teach in the mountainous areas behind the enemy with the sincere intention of saving the country through education. He became a teacher of Chinese at the provincial Yi Lin middle school (Jinzhai) and the seventh Lin middle school (Shucheng Xiaotian). He is sincere and modest. The administration is diligent and honest, the school management is strict, and the moral education of students is especially important. The detailed analysis of teaching items will make all students know the origin and the end. During his tenure as county director of education, Tongzhong was ordered by the provincial government to stop the enrollment of senior high school students. In the paper, he detailed the harm of the suspension of senior high school, and finally made the Department of education approve Tongzhong's "permission to put senior high school on file". Mr. Wang's articles are concise, and his writing emphasizes righteousness and method. He also works in poetry and moans without illness. He died in 1945. During his lifetime, he had a close relationship with Yan Fu, a famous figure in the education field, and often sang with each other.
