In 2012, Fang Qiao dropped out of school to participate in the Asian Games and joined the full-time athlete.

In 2014, Fang Qiao ranked first in Hong Kong, but the Hong Kong Fencing Association told him in February that he could only play in the Asian Games.

In September 2014, Fang Qiao represented Hong Kong, China to participate in the men's epee team competition of the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.
