Life of the characters
There was no news after joining the army
Xu Boyang was born on December 26, 1927. Xu Boyang, who was studying in Chengdu in 1943, went to high school for a semester. At the age of 16, he took part in the army of 100000 young people on his own initiative. After he left, there was no news and his whereabouts were unknown. Later, after inquiring, Jiang Biwei learned that he had joined the new army of general sun Liren and had been trained in Myanmar.
After the victory of the war of resistance against Japan, Jiang Biwei received the first good news. He received a letter from his son Xu Boyang, who had no news from the army, said that he had fought with the army in Burma, and had fought bloody battles in the primitive forest near Myitkyina and the enemy Japan. They had solved the British Army's encircles, prevented the Japanese army from carrying out the frenzied offensive, and protected the security of Yunnan and India. Received in Guangzhou. However, it was in the summer of 1947 that Xu Boyang met only after he asked to be discharged from the army.
The reason why Xu Boyang didn't inherit his father's career in fine arts is as follows:
In his childhood, Xu Boyang was also taught by his father about the basics of painting and calligraphy. In middle school, a freehand landscape painting was publicly displayed. Later, around 1948, he entered the Department of Western painting in Peking. But before long, he suddenly found that his interest was music. Singing could express his ideal and ambition. So Xu Boyang, who studied western painting for two years, changed from western painting to music.
Love music instead of painting and calligraphy
Without consulting with his father, Xu Beihong inspected the classroom that day and found that his son was not there, so he asked the students, "where is Boyang?" The student said, "he's transferred to the music department."
Xu Beihong didn't get angry because Boyang didn't discuss with him. He respected his son's choice. "Learning painting is a hard work. We should not force ourselves, including our relatives." Xu Beihong once said so.
Later, Xu Boyang studied music and got to know Xie fengzeng because of his music. Xie fengzeng is a piano teacher who plays piano well. Their son Xu Xuejun also studied music and studied piano at the Hong Kong Academy for performing arts.
The name of the Xu family is very interesting. Xu Boyang's eldest son is Xu Xiaoyang, obviously because of her father's "Yang"; and Xiao Yang's daughter is Xu Weiwei, who is Jiang Biwei's "Wei", and Jiang is her great grandmother.
Xu Boyang's sister, Xu Lili, graduated from the middle school attached to Central University in 1948 and was admitted to Jinling Women's University. However, less than three months after class, the situation suddenly changed, and the war broke out in Xuzhou. Jiang Biwei sent Lili to her uncle Shouan's house in Shanghai for temporary residence. One day, Jiang Biwei suddenly received a telegram from Xu Shouan saying that Lili left home and didn't know what to do. Jiang Biwei also couldn't find it, and he was very sad.
