Zhang Liu
Zhang Liu, the word Gong Liu. Jiading, Jiangsu (now Jiading District, Shanghai) people. In his childhood, he studied with his father in academies in Jinhua and Yiwu of Zhejiang Province. Later, he went to Japan to study in Tokyo Fisheries Institute of agriculture and forestry province. After graduation in 1910, he returned to China. After the revolution of 1911 (1911), Zhang Liu was appointed as the Preparatory Committee by the Education Department of Jiangsu Province to organize the Jiangsu Provincial Fisheries school (now Shanghai Ocean University).
Personal life
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Cheng Dequan, the governor of Jiangsu Province, appointed Zhang Liu as the organizer in May and the president in December. At the beginning of its establishment, it was difficult to start a business, and Zhang Jian and Huang Yanpei helped it. When Wu songpao's school in Taiwan was not completed, Zhang Liu decided to recruit students first. He borrowed the third floor of the office building of Jiangsu Provincial Education Association on Ximen Avenue in Shanghai as the classroom. On December 15 of the first year of the Republic of China, he enrolled the first batch of 68 preparatory students, and the school officially opened on January 16 of the next year. All the students live and study in songshengli and Daqing Li. In order to facilitate teaching and management, in September of the same year, he moved to Qiuzhi college in bailiancang Street (now Qiaojia Road) of Xiaonanmen, where students lived. In December of the Republic of China, the first phase of Wusong school was completed. In January of the next year, the school moved to the new school building in wusongpao Taiwan, and the preparatory students were promoted to the first grade of fishing and manufacturing (aquatic products manufacturing) respectively. In August 2003, the second phase of the school building was started, and it was changed to enroll students in autumn. In January of the sixth year of the Republic of China, he graduated from the first fishing department. The graduates went to Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong and other provinces to investigate fishery by the newly built Songhang training ship. The third phase of the school building was completed in the sixth year of the Republic of China. In August of the eighth year of the Republic of China, the fourth phase was built. In the 9th year of the Republic of China, the diesel engine fishing ship "Haifeng" was built. In April of the same year, Zhang Liu was appointed by the government to visit Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, and was ordered to report on the proposed plan to turn Lianyungang into a commercial port and a fishing port. The trip lasted 10 days. After returning to school, Lianyungang port construction plan was formulated and submitted according to the investigation. In the ninth year of the Republic of China, Tian Beikou graduated from vocational engineering. In the 10th year of the Republic of China, a breeding department and a net Editing Staff Department were set up, and a breeding practice farm was set up in ZhouShu Town, Kunshan County, Jiangsu Province. In the 13th year of the Republic of China, a maritime college was set up. In the 14th year of the Republic of China, the specialty of pelagic fishery was set up. By the 14th year of the Republic of China, Zhang Liu had become ill from overwork and died young. The school had a considerable scale and was the most well-equipped aquatic school in China.
