Zhang Xiang
Zhang Xiang (1919-january 22, 2019), male, Han nationality, from Dawu County, Hubei Province, formerly known as Zhang huanmo, joined the Communist Youth League of China in December 1930, became a member of the Communist Party of China in October 1937, joined the revolutionary work in March 1930, graduated from the command department of the Logistics College of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, with the rank of senior colonel. He was Vice Minister of the General Logistics Department of the Chinese people's Liberation Army.
In the early morning of January 22, 2019, Zhang Xiang died in Beijing 301 Hospital at the age of 101.
Character experience
In March 1930, he joined the Chinese workers' and peasants' Red Army and successively served as an attendant of the Soviet secret service brigade in Hubei, Henan and Anhui provinces, as well as a nurse, head nurse and chief pharmacist of the rear hospital of the 28th Red Army. He participated in the guerrilla war in the south for three years. during the Anti Japanese War, he served as the doctor and leader of the medical team of the 14th regiment of the 4th detachment of the New Fourth Army, the director of the rest home directly under the headquarters of the New Fourth Army, and the deputy director of the rear hospital of the 2nd division of the New Fourth army. During the war of liberation, he served as director of the medical administration department and Hospital Administration Bureau of the Ministry of health of the New Fourth Army, director of the health department directly under the Ministry of health of the central China military region, President of the first field hospital of the East China Field Army, President and political commissar of the second general hospital of the Ministry of health of the East China military region. He took part in the battles of Meng Lianggu, Huaihai and crossing the Yangtze River. He was awarded the rank of senior colonel in September 1955. He graduated from the command department of the Logistics College of the Chinese people's Liberation Army in 1960. from 1960 to 1975, he served as Minister of health of the Logistics Department of the Nanjing Military Region of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, vice minister and Minister of the Logistics Department of the Nanjing Military Region of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. He was Vice Minister of the General Logistics Department of the Chinese people's Liberation Army from 1975 to 1979. from 1979 to 1982, he was Minister of health of the General Logistics Department of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. from December 1982 to March 1985, he was Vice Minister of the General Logistics Department of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. He was also the chairman of the medical science and Technology Committee of the PLA. He was elected to the Standing Committee of the Seventh National Committee of the CPPCC in April 1988.
Character honor
He was awarded the three-level 81 medal, the two-level independent freedom medal and the two-level Liberation Medal. In July 1988, he was awarded the first-class Red Star Medal of merit by the Central Military Commission. He is an alternate member of the 12th CPC Central Committee.
