The revised Dictionary of Tang Poetry: Xu Bai, a native of Qinghe (now Hebei Province) and a native of Xingzhou (now Xingtai, Hebei Province). He was a Taoist because he was not qualified for the examination. He calls himself baiyunzi.
About the author
