Zhang Yan? - 266), Zi Zi Jie. Wu county (now Suzhou, Jiangsu Province) people. Born in Zhang family of Wu County, he was a scholar of Wu state during the Three Kingdoms period. He was well-known when he was a weak crown, and has been in a prominent position. With erudition and knowledge, we worship dahonglu. In the first year of Baoding (266), he was ordered to send an envoy with Ding Zhong to the Western Jin Dynasty to pay homage to Sima Zhao, Emperor Wen of the Jin Dynasty. In Luoyang, I will not insult you. He died on the way home. His son is Zhang Han, a writer.

Zhang Yan, a native of Wuxian County in Wujun County, was born into Zhang family, one of the four surnames in Jiangnan. Weak crown has been well-known, successive positions. Later, because of his wide knowledge, he paid homage to dahonglu.
He was ordered to make an envoy to Jin Dynasty
In 266 A.D. (the first year of Baoding), on the order of SUN Hao, the late Wu Emperor, and Wu guanzhonglang, they sent Ding Zhong as an envoy to Jin Dynasty to pay homage to Sima Zhao, the Wendi of Jin Dynasty, who died not long ago. SUN Hao said to Zhang Yan, "now the north and the south are well connected. Because you have the ability to go abroad, you are wronged to go there." Zhang Yan replied: "brilliant flowers, I am honored by it. Even if the ancients did not publicize the beauty of reputation, they would sharpen their talents and momentum, and think about fulfilling their mission."
Don't insult your life
After arriving in Luoyang, Jia Chong, Pei Xiu, Xun Xu and others wanted to make trouble for what he didn't know, but they couldn't make him yield. He made friends with Yang Hu and he Zhen in Luoyang and died of illness on his way home.
