Wu Jifu
Wu Jifu, a character discrimination uncle, is a member of the Wu family in Ruzhou city. He was studious and assiduous since childhood.
Disgusted with the noise of the city and unable to concentrate, he dug a stone cave under the brocade screen of Fengxue temple to study behind closed doors and put an end to communication. He studied assiduously in the cave. After nine years of hard work, he was proficient in history and became a contemporary Confucian. Examination oriented imperial examination, that is, the Jinshi. During the reign of emperor Renzong of Song Dynasty, the state promoted Taixue and cultivated talents, and appointed him as Taixue zhishuo. He was well-known for his profound knowledge. At one time, he was surrounded by apprentices from all over the world, with thousands of scholars, and enjoyed high prestige among the vast number of intellectuals. Later, he was promoted to Guozijian. Knowing that he had talent, the imperial court transferred him to other places to serve as prefect for more than 30 years. During this period, when he was the governor of Pengzhou, Sichuan Province, his political achievements were particularly remarkable. When he left office at the end of his term, the masses were reluctant to part with him and sang praises of his merits. The lyrics are: "when you come, your parents will bow to me; when you are polite, your people will not be cold or hungry, and you cannot stay; when you are sad, your tears will fall." This song fully expresses the sincere feelings of the people. Finally, he was promoted to pacifier of Jingzhou South Road and died in Rensuo. He was granted the title of doctor Tongfeng.
