Huang Dingwen (1746-1829), named Zhongyou and Dongjing, was born in Yinxian county (Ningbo), Zhejiang Province. He was once the magistrate of Guishan county. He wrote six volumes of Dongjing shiwenchao, belonging to the Xieshan school.

In 1777, the whole life of the characters was completed. in 1790, he was the magistrate of Raoping County. in 1799, he was appointed as Jieyang magistrate. In the sixth year of Jiaqing (1801), he served as the magistrate of Haiyang County, the official of Chaozhou Prefecture and Yangzhou Tongzhi.
