Yuan Zhiyuan and Zhenyuan were professors of Baoqing Prefecture. According to the records of Shexian County, Li Shida, the garrison of Shexian County in the Yuan Dynasty, robbed the common people after the rebellion, which was inevitable for all the slightly wealthy families. Bao shousun and his father, Bao Zongyan, were captured and killed by the army. Bao shousun was willing to die on behalf of his father. His father Bao Zongyan said, "I'm old. I only have one son to worship. How can I kill him? I'm willing to die." All of a sudden, there was a strong wind. It was as if the pursuers had fallen from the sky. The rebels were in chaos, so they had to abandon Bao's father and son and fled in panic. In order to honor Bao's kindness and filial piety, the emperor of Ming Dynasty granted the building of "filial piety and benevolence square". When Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty was touring the south of the Yangtze River, he heard the story of Bao's father's kindness and son's filial piety, competing to die. He was greatly appreciated and wrote the couplet of "kindness and filial piety are unparalleled in the world, the most beautiful town in the south of the Yangtze River".
