Wei Yiao (1613 ~ 1692) was born in Xin'an, Zhili (Baoding, Hebei). Ming Dynasty is a new generation of Neo Confucianism. Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty was the official magistrate of Xinzhou in Shanxi Province. Be courteous and virtuous, and give more preferential policies. After the turmoil in the late Ming Dynasty, he did not want to be an official. In 1645, he studied from sun Qifeng, a great scholar in the early Qing Dynasty. He built a room beside the Jianshan hall in xiafeng village, Huixian County, Henan Province, where sun Qifeng lived, and named his residence "Xuetang". And Tang bin, Geng Jie and so on, Tang praised him very much. He often went back and forth with sun Qifeng to lecture in Baiquan Academy. The longest time he studied from sun Qifeng was 32 years ago, so he recorded the most questions and answers with sun Qifeng. He once built Shanggu Wuxian temple in Baoding city. After his death, he was worshipped in the ancestral hall of the local sages. He is the author of four books, book of songs, BeiXue edition, chronology of xiafeng, Mengyu in Xueting and Shicao in Xueting. At that time, people had a high evaluation of the dream of snow Pavilion.
On the day of leaving office, a boy and a horse came back to his hometown. Out of the worship of Wang Shouren, Wei Yiao copied Wang Yangming's stele in 1682. There are "snow Pavilion poetry grass", "insect sound".

During his official career, he gave Fu Shan a lot of help. Especially when Fu Shan was arrested and jailed for suspected involvement in anti Qing activities, Wei Yiao risked his life to testify for Fu Shan and made Fu Shan out of danger. Wei Yiao was also a very important disciple of sun Qifeng's family. After he left Shanxi, he followed his teacher to carry forward Neo Confucianism. He was a very influential figure in the northern academic circle in the early Qing Dynasty.
