Liu Huang year (1821-1891), the word Shujun, Dacheng County Liu Guxian people. In the tenth year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1860), he was admitted to the Imperial Academy as a scholar.
In 1862, he was the editor of the Imperial Academy. Four years (1865) will try to be the same examiner. In April 1866, he was promoted to minister. In the first month of 1869, he was transferred to serve as an official. On the seventh day of September, he was awarded the title of magistrate of Huizhou Prefecture, Guangdong Province. Huizhou has a strong local custom. Liu worked in Huizhou for three years, and there was no fight or robbery. During his term of office, he revised Huizhou Fu Zhi. In May 1872, he was transferred to Chaozhou to act as an agent of the government. He founded dozens of private schools to let the local people study and receive education, so that the folk customs were purified. In 1873, he acted as the governor of Guangzhou. In dealing with government affairs, Liu huangnian did not use coercion. He wrote poems in Huizhou and Chaozhou to encourage the people. The local people liked to chant his poems and engraved them on stones. He is the author of 32 LAN Ting Shi and Yue Yuan CI.
