It may be the same person who was given the surname of "Wang" because he followed Wang Jian, the emperor of Korea, to fight against the mountains and rivers. He married Wang Jian's father and son for two generations. Wang Jian accepted his two daughters as his 15th and 16th concubines. Among them, the 16th concubines also gave birth to a son named Guangzhou Yuanjun. In addition, he had a daughter who married Zhengyin (Prince) Wang Wu (later Gao lihuizong). In 937, Wang GUI was sent to the Central Plains to congratulate Shi Jingtang, the emperor of the later Jin Dynasty, on his deathbed. After Wang Jian's death, Wang Wu's mother's family was humble and unstable. Wang GUI wanted to take the opportunity to establish his grandson to succeed him. At that time, the power of Wang Yao and Wang Zhao brothers was also very strong. In order to get rid of the obstacles, Wang GUI slandered Wang Wu, saying that Wang Yao and Wang Zhao were plotting against Wang Wu, but Wang Wu ignored them. Wang GUI sent an assassin to sneak into the palace and assassinate Wang Wu while he was asleep. Unexpectedly, Wang Wu woke up and killed the assassin with one blow, but he did not pursue the matter. Wang GUI didn't give up. He went out in person and led his party to dig a tunnel into the Shende hall. However, Wang Wu had already secretly moved to Chongguang hall under the reminder of Minister Cui Zhimeng, so Wang GUI had no idea. He thumped his chest, knew that Cui Zhimeng had broken his plan, and scolded him face to face: "it must be your idea to move the king to bed!" Cui Zhimeng didn't say a word, so Wang GUI retired. soon after, Wang Wu was seriously ill. Wang GUI and his assistant minister, Pu Shuxi, were on guard with 100 soldiers each. Wang Yao suspected that Pu Shuxi had a different ambition, so he exiled him to Jiachuan. Later, Wang GUI falsely told the king to kill Pu Shuxi. Wang Yao believed that Wang GUI would make trouble by taking advantage of Wang Wu's death, so he tied up with Wang Shilian, who was guarding Xijing, and asked him to lead his troops to Beijing. He became king on the day of Wang Wu's death, subdued Wang GUI's forces the next day, and killed more than 300 of his followers. Wang was beheaded in the process of exile. Modern scholars doubt whether Wang GUI attempted to rebel. Wang Yao, the emperor of Korea, was the mastermind of the coup. Both Pu Shuxi and Wang GUI were executed by him as obstacles to seizing power. Later, they claimed that Wang GUI plotted against Wang GUI and planted the death of Pu Shuxi on Wang GUI's head. The records in the history of Korea are just the stand of becoming the king and defeating the enemy.
