Wang Yi (485-529, January 15) was born in Linyi County, Langya County, Xuzhou (now Linyi City, Shandong Province). He was a minister in the Northern Wei Dynasty, the grandson of zuopushe Wang Huan in the Southern Qi Dynasty, and the son of Zhonglang Wang Chen.
Wang Yi has a beautiful demeanor and is studious and talented. He started his career as a secretary, and served as a bodyguard of the local officials. Sikong was engaged in Zhonglang, Zhongshu bodyguard, and friend of the king of Qinghe (Yuanyi). He married the daughter of Wang Yuancheng, the Taifu Rencheng. In the period of emperor Xiaoming, he married his daughter to Wang yuanzhan of Guangyang and married Yuan Yi, a minister of power. He served as governor of Jizhou and Dingzhou. He was upright and devoted to the people. He had made great achievements in his political work. He resigned because of illness and was given a free riding official.
After emperor Xiaozhuang ascended the throne, he was awarded Zhennan general, jinziguanglu doctor and Guozi sacrificial wine. In the first year of Yong'an (January 15, 529), he died at the age of 45. He was presented to Shizhong, general Wei, sikonggong, and the governor of Xuzhou. His posthumous title was Xiaoxian. He was buried in Xixiang, Luoyang.
