Male, born in December 1930 in Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province. In 1948, he studied in the Department of international trade of national Shanghai business college. After graduating in 1952, he transferred to Renmin University of China and Beijing Institute of foreign trade to study as a graduate student in foreign trade. He graduated in 1955.

He is currently a professor of the University of foreign economic relations and trade, a member of the Advisory Group on foreign economic relations and trade development strategy of the Ministry of foreign trade and economic cooperation, and a member of the international trade theory research committee of the China Society of international trade. He has been a specially invited researcher of the Hong Kong and Macao Research Institute of the Hong Kong and Macao Office of the State Council and a director of the GATT Research Association. During the teaching period, he gave lectures for students inside and outside the University, as well as students from the former Soviet Union, Germany, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines and other countries, and went to Germany, Hong Kong and other places to give lectures and participate in seminars. He is the chief editor of China's socialist foreign trade, China's foreign economic relations, China's foreign trade, an introduction to China's foreign trade, China's foreign trade study questions and answers, foreign trade economics, China's foreign economic and trade system reform book, world market development guide, developing China's mechanical and electrical products export and other books. Co authored with the new development of China's foreign economic and trade, China's foreign trade in the primary stage of socialism, China's foreign trade economics and other books.
