Wang Keqin (November 1964 -), male, Han nationality, member of the Communist Party of China, bachelor's degree, from Yongdeng County, Gansu Province, is a well-known contemporary Chinese journalist who is known as "China's Lincoln Stephens" (famous American journalist) and "the first Chinese journalist". He once served as director of the investigation department of China economic times, assistant editor in chief of economic observer, general manager of western development daily, general manager of New Youth magazine, and also as postgraduate supervisor of journalism of Zhejiang University, Sun Yat sen University, Renmin University of China, Chongqing University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, China Youth Political College, Central University for nationalities, Shantou University, and Law School of Peking University researcher. He once served as a member of the Party committee of the economic times newspaper. On February 3, 2001, Wang Keqin published nearly 20000 words of "Lanzhou stock black market washing" in China economic times, and Premier Zhu Rongji gave instructions to rectify the illegal securities market in China. This case became "the first case of national economic order rectification" in 2001, and more than 150 persons involved in the case were arrested in Lanzhou alone. On October 17, 2001, he published in the Western business daily the exposure of "bad people" in public election, exposing the vicious incidents of rural cadres killing and beating the disabled villagers in Min County, Gansu Province. Just at the end of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 15th CPC Central Committee, Wen Jiabao and Li Lanqing gave instructions respectively, and six cadres involved in the case were punished by law.
