Pan Xingsi
Pan Xingsi (about 1023-1100), whose name is Yanzhi, was born in Xinjian, Nanchang. He inherited the court instructions, learned the history of classics, and wrote poems and essays, which are valued by the world. He was friendly with Wang Anshi and Zeng Gong. His father, Ru Shiyin, gave him a general as a supervisor's book and transferred Dehua (now Jiujiang county) to be a captain. Although Xu, the governor of Jiangzhou, had friendship with the county, he was not polite and returned indignantly. His representative works are Shi Hua and Xi Shan Wen Ji.
He built his house in the south of Yuzhang city. During the period of daily study, he called himself Qingyi Jushi and named his building "Xianyun building". There are dozens of chapters on the recommendation of Gongqing. In 1068, the first year of Xining reign of emperor Shenzong of Song Dynasty, he was called as the official of Junzhou (now Gao'an county). He has lived in seclusion for 60 years. He has planted trees all around him. He never gives up his work until he is old. There are hundreds of handwritten books, including 60 volumes of Xishan anthology and one volume of supplement to Shihua. Yanzhi, named Qingyi, was born in Xinjian (now Jiangxi). When he was young, he got an official with his father's shadow. He was granted a county magistrate in Dehua County of Jiangzhou, and he abandoned the official. He was called to be the Tui official of Junzhou in Xining, and his words were not enough. He lived in seclusion for 60 years and died at the age of 80. Lu Zuqian compiled song Wenjian and recorded many of his works. Poetry is clear and meaningful, such as "eyes alone without clouds, looking at the outside of the Yangtze River sill" (Tengwang Pavilion in spring), describing the picturesque scenery of Jiangnan. He also liked to discuss poetry, and wrote a volume of Shihua (Guangxu revised Jiangxi Tongzhi), which is now lost. Eleven of his poems are recorded in volume 534 of complete song poetry. There are six chapters in volume 1513 of Quan Song Wen. His deeds can be seen in Yang Jie's epitaph of Madame Guqian (Volume 14 of Wuwei Collection), Volume 6 and 7 of Jiajing Jiujiang mansion, and Volume 2 of Guo Shaoyu's textual research on Song poetry.
