curriculum vitae
when I was young, I was slow in reading, but I was diligent and resolute. In the seventh year of Yongzheng (1729), he paid tribute. In the first year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1736), he was a Jinshi, and was granted the head of the household department. Soon after that, he took leave for his mother's illness and returned home. He was once taught in his alma mater, Zhuwu Shanfang school. After her mother died, she went to Beijing to resume her job and was transferred to yuanwailang. Because of his uprightness and conscientiousness, he was promoted to Jiangnan censor. In the 28th year of Qianlong (1763), he was ordered to inspect Taiwan. He was appointed as the censor to inspect Taiwan and stayed in Taiwan for about half a year. In view of the superior agricultural conditions and the shortage of talents in Taiwan and Hong Kong, Yi Qing advocated the idea of "governing the fool with wisdom" and successively set up two academies of "Haifeng" and "Chongwen", and taught them in person, such as poetry, books, etiquette, farming and weaving knowledge; at the same time, he introduced improved rice and sugarcane varieties in Taiwan. A few years later, great achievements have been achieved, rice is ripe, sugarcane is abundant, and sugar industry is prosperous. However, Taiwan is often plagued by hurricanes. Every time there is a bad harvest in a disaster year, Yi Qing will make an effort to reduce the tax to the imperial court according to the facts. Taiwan is close to the sea. During the rainy season of the Qingming Festival every year, sea turtles go ashore and trample on crops, causing disasters. However, local people respect the turtle as a "God" and dare not invade it. In order to get rid of the harm of soft shelled turtle, we should have a plan. He ordered his followers and students to catch hundreds of turtles. The next day, members of the staff, chief soldiers, gentry, senior citizens and farmers' representatives were summoned to discuss the matter, and the chefs were ordered to set up a "turtle banquet" secretly. Fried, fried, sliced, fried and steamed turtle were all turtle. "How does it taste?" he asked They said, "delicious food." Then he told the truth: "this is a turtle with four feet harmful to agriculture." After that, the news spread all over Taiwan, and the people of Taiwan competed to catch and eat them. Since then, the harm of turtle has decreased year by year. During Yi Qing's tour of Taiwan, on the one hand, he set up schools and agriculture, on the other hand, he worked with the governor and the general manager of the army. With Keelung in the north as the stronghold and Kaohsiung in the South as the center, he strengthened the coastal defense facilities and improved the defense ability. Because of his outstanding achievements, he was promoted to the Minister of Guanglu temple. When they left Taiwan, the people were reluctant to part with them and gave them a pair of stone lions (after several relocations, they were now at the gate of linchi village committee). Yiqing returned home at the age of 68. Like the common people, he never flaunted himself or talked about the honor and disgrace of officialdom. At the age of 79, he died in linchi's hometown.
