Based on the design concept of large-scale merchant ships and Mayan temples, the China Tobacco Museum forms an external structure about 80 meters long, 25 meters wide and 30 meters high. The center of the museum's outer wall is inlaid with a 140 meter long and 4.1-meter-high granite relief with the theme of "record of smoke and cloud".

Standing in front of the museum are five large totem pillars with a diameter of 0.85 meters and an average height of 9 meters.
