Zhongzan township is located in the north of the county, between 27 ° 53 ′ ~ 28 ° 37 ′ N and 99 ° 29 ′ ~ 100 ° 11 ′ e. it is located in lazanzhong, wengshang village, 59 km away from the county.

In the Southern Song Dynasty, wengshang was called "Ba Yu", which was under the jurisdiction of Batang. In early 1959, the people's commune of Geza was established. It was changed into a district in 1962, renamed as a commune in 1968. In 1984, it was changed into a township. It has jurisdiction over six administrative villages, including Geza, wengshang, wengshui, Langdu, nagala and Moluo, 39 cooperatives, 76 natural villages and 1147 households, of which Tibetans account for 99.21%.
