Tielu reservoir

Tielu reservoir in Qiongshan city is located in Tanwen Town, tielu River, a tributary of Nandu River. It was built in April 1958. The main dam is a homogeneous earth dam with a crest length of 733m. In 1966, the main dam was still half section, reaching an elevation of 48.5m. On November 20, 1972, typhoon hit the dam of langxiao (1) reservoir in the upper reaches of litchi County, causing the water level of the reservoir to rise to 48.24 meters (at that time, the lowest elevation of the dam was 47.2 meters). At that time, people were organized to raise the dam top with straw bags to block water, and the temporary spillway was widened to discharge flood. In 1982, according to the new flood control standard, the dam was raised and thickened, the wave wall was set up, the highway bridge into the reservoir was built, and the slope protection was reconstructed to be 35 cm thick dry built coarse stone and 15 cm thick gravel cushion.

The spillway was built in 1974 with 5 holes of 4.0 × 1.8m reinforced concrete radial gate.

The low culvert pipe built in 1958 is a square masonry culvert. Because of the serious leakage of the pipe side wall and pipe body, it was grouted. In 1960, it was rebuilt into reinforced concrete pipe, which was rarely used. In 1975, it was blocked.

The designed irrigation area is 1400 hectares. Since 1963, the construction of the irrigation area has been started. There are 12 km of main canal (7 km of concrete anti-seepage), 30 km of branch canal (18 km of concrete anti-seepage), and 17 km of canal dike top traffic mileage. At present, 933 hectares are irrigated effectively.
