Bengbu museum is located in the citizen square on the west side of Longzi Lake, south of the municipal government. It is a comprehensive museum with the theme of displaying Bengbu ancient history, modern urban development history and Huaihe River history and culture. The original site is located in science and culture palace of Bengbu City, which was moved to the current site in 2015. The architectural appearance of the site is "Dayu splits the mountain to guide the Huaihe River", with a total construction area of 34000 square meters and an exhibition area of 12000 square meters "Pregnant sand into a Pearl - Bengbu historical and cultural exhibition", "flowing civilization - Huaihe historical and cultural exhibition", "memories of the past - Bengbu Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition", "shovel interpretation of Tianshu - archaeological Experience Hall", "calligraphy and painting works exhibition" and "comb shadow treasure - Museum Collection of fine bronze mirror Exhibition".

Founded in 1974, the museum is a subordinate institution of Bengbu Municipal Bureau of culture, radio, television, press and Publication (Tourism Bureau). It works together with Bengbu Municipal Administration of cultural relics. It has two brands and one organization. It is responsible for the protection, management, research, exhibition of the above and underground cultural relics in Bengbu City, as well as the publicity and education of the public. The Museum of Bengbu City has made some academic research achievements in the aspects of Tushan Dayu culture, Bengbu Shuangdun culture, ancient civilization of Huaihe River Basin, Ming culture, etc., which has a certain influence both inside and outside the province. In September 2018, Bengbu museum was approved as a national second-class Museum by China Museum Association.
Collection
There are more than 4000 pieces of cultural relics in Bengbu Museum, including fossils of paleontology hundreds of thousands of years ago, rich relics unearthed from Neolithic sites more than 7000 years ago, as well as ceramics, bronzes, jades, paintings, calligraphy and rare books of various dynasties in the period of historical civilization. It is a precious object reflecting the historical evolution of Bengbu City and has important scientific, artistic and historical value.

Bengbu Museum has 17 official staff, including 2 senior researchers and 11 intermediate researchers, all of whom have college degree or above. Strong talent force ensures the smooth development of the museum's work. Internally, it can undertake the responsibility of patriotism education and historical tradition education for the general public and primary and secondary school students, and externally, it can show the long ancient civilization and profound historical and cultural heritage of Bengbu area. Bengbu museum is one of the most influential museums in and out of the province, which has achieved certain academic research results in the aspects of Tushan Dayu culture, ancient civilization of Huaihe River Basin, and cultural research of Ming Dynasty.
Basic Display
The exhibition of ancient civilization in Bengbu is based on nearly 400 unearthed cultural relics, supplemented by words and charts, and in the order of historical process. It shows the historical development of Bengbu from the Paleolithic age 60000 years ago to the opening of the Jingpu railway in 1912.

Blue and white porcelain pot of Yuan Dynasty. It is 47.5 cm in height and 15.6 cm in diameter. The shape is heavy and dignified, the body is white and hard, and transparent glaze is applied. There are six layers of theme decoration and two layers of auxiliary decoration on the body.
The head of a man with a face carved on pottery is from the Neolithic age. It is 6.3cm high and is the remnant of a pottery. It's made of clam powder and pottery by hand. The head portraits are realistic in shape, with proper proportion of facial features, moderate concave convex contrast, childish and lovely in expression, concise and bright in image, reflecting the aesthetic consciousness and artistic level of the ancestors 7000 years ago.
"Jiangnan Yangtze River Navy governor's seal" in Qing Dynasty. Silver. The printing surface is square, 10.8 cm long and 9.1 cm high. Tiger button, tiger crouching roar shape, magnificent shape, simple style. The face of the seal is the contrast between Manchu and Han, and the seal script of willow leaves. Printed on the back of the left and right Yin engraved full, Chinese text, and Yin engraved margin.
The fourth series of celadon pot with Pankou printing in Shouzhou kiln in Sui Dynasty. Shouzhou kiln products, 35 cm high. It is hard, yellow and white in color, with half blue glaze inside and outside, and bright and transparent under glaze. Four layers of flowers and leaves are printed on the shoulder and abdomen. The shape of the ware is dignified and simple, with unique charm.
