The origin of the name
Located 15 miles south of Tongzhou City, Zhangjiawan, an ancient town in Jingdong, was built in Yuan Dynasty and named after water. It was once an important water and land transportation hub and logistics distribution center at the starting point of Hebei Universiade. It was known as "the first wharf of the Grand Canal". "At the head of the Grand Canal in Zhangwan for thousands of years, the ancient fortress is close to the canal, and there are many beautiful sites" tells us that Zhangjiawan has an ancient history and many historic sites. Tongyun bridge is located at the wall of Zhangjiawan ancient city, across the xiaotaihou River, north of the bridge and south of the bridge.
In ancient times, Luhe River, Fuhe River, Hunhe River and Lihe River converged here. The water potential was winding and stone bridges were everywhere. It is said that after the establishment of Yanjing in Liao Dynasty, it was convenient for Empress Xiao to transport grain by river. Every spring, she hunted in langyin and stayed here. Today, the horse breeding circle and pailouying village are named after the horse breeding circle and the palace pailou. The place where empress Xiao's horse infantry stationed is located in the south of the village. Jinjianzhongdu, Luhe transportation, here has become an important wharf. In the 30 years from the emperor Shizu to the Yuan Dynasty, Tonghui river was dredged and completed. It became an important land and water area. "The official boats and boats were gathered here, and the song was heard of each other. It was most called Fansheng". At that time, it was named Zhangjiawan because of the governor of water transport, Zhang Xuan (wanhu), who supervised the shipping here. In the early and middle Ming Dynasty, Tonghui river was lost in dredging. Anyone who had to go through the canal for people and goods from south to North would stay here.
In the sixth year of Jiajing period, Tonghui river was dredged, and water transport ships still went directly to Tongzhou. One of the eight scenic spots in Tongzhou, Wanzhou pianji, tells the grand occasion at that time. The imperial court built tongjicang here, and also set up Huangdian, Baoyuan and Jiqing tax, tongduandusi, Xunzi, Yancang Inspection Institute and other official offices. There are three villages, namely, huangmu factory, papaya factory and Yanchang, so they are called "three villages" (papaya factory is now a papaya factory, and Yanchang is now a salt Beach). There are business trips from all over the world, and there are many department stores in the market, so there are two villages: Xidian and Changdian (now called Zhangjiawan Town).
