Changxing Town, located in the southeast of Chongming District, is an island at the entrance of Jiangnan waterway. It is adjacent to Hengsha Island in the southeast, Chongming Island in the East and North, Baosteel in the West and Waigaoqiao in Pudong in the southwest across the river, with a distance of 7.5 km. Shanghai Chengtou avant-garde Industrial Company is inlaid in the middle of the island. On the South Bank of Changxing Island, there is a deep water coastline of nearly 20 kilometers, with a depth of 12 to 16 meters, a maximum depth of 22 meters and a width of about 1000 meters. With stable water regime and no sediment deposition, it is suitable for the construction of wharf, port machinery, shipbuilding, ship repair and logistics transfer base. It can dock 300000 DWT ships and has convenient access, which has laid a solid foundation for the development of marine equipment industry in Changxing.
