Yongqing Temple
Yongqing temple, located in Yingbin Peninsula, Old Town Development Zone, Chengmai County, Hainan Province, is the largest Buddhist temple in northern Hainan. The temple covers an area of about 80 mu, with a construction area of about 9200 square meters.
Yongqing temple, Daxiong hall and the 42 Buddha statues in each hall are all made of the whole Burmese white jade. The method is unique, white and lustrous, which is rare in the world.
Historical records
Yongqing temple, built in the Song Dynasty, became the largest temple in Chengmai at that time after expansion. It is a holy place for local people to worship and pray. It is fragrant all year round. According to Chengmai County annals of the Qing Dynasty, "Yongqing temple is two Li to the east of the old city", which is located in the northeast of the crocodile lake zoo in Nantai. At that time, the forest around Yongqing temple was luxuriant, which was a scenic spot with beautiful scenery and elegant environment.
According to historical records, Li Gang, Li Guang, Hu Quan and many other historical celebrities and sages visited the temple, making its name spread all over the place, and spreading its Fayin throughout Qiongzhou. Su Dongpo, a great writer of the Northern Song Dynasty, went to study Buddhism several times and wrote touching poems.
Related allusions
On June 11, 1097, the fourth year of Shaosheng in the Northern Song Dynasty, Su Dongpo crossed the sea to Qiong, stayed at Tongchao Pavilion in the old city post at night, and visited Yongqing temple the next day. He was intoxicated by the beautiful scenery here, and happily wrote a poem: "you Huai suddenly broke away, singing to the sky wind.". In June of the third year of Yuanfu's reign (1100), he was pardoned and returned to the north. When he visited the temple again, he chanted "I don't hate to die in the south, but I'd like to travel here for the rest of my life.". Zeng Yi, a famous sage of the Ming Dynasty, once wrote a poem with the title of Yongqing jungle: "the forest is planted in the Vatican Palace, the garden is Yiqiu, the courtyard is deep; the bells and drums are not heard in the four places, but the shadow is only seen in it.".

Beautiful scenery in the temple
Yongqing temple stands by the sea with pleasant scenery and fresh air. Five trees (Bodhi, Beiye palm, sugar palm, Daqing and areca nut), six flowers (Plumeria, Manjusri, lotus, huangmiangui, Huangjiang flower and Diyong Golden Lotus) are planted in the temple, which are related to Buddhism. The green and the grand, solemn and quiet Buddha world are highlighted, and the realm of returning to simplicity and returning to the truth and the unity of heaven, earth, human and Buddha is achieved.
Since 2001, Chengmai County has decided to rebuild Yongqing temple. Hainan Province and the State Bureau of religion have attached great importance to it. They have successively given instructions and agreed to rebuild Yongqing temple after going through relevant procedures in accordance with relevant national regulations. On April 22, 2009, Yongqing temple was rebuilt and completed.
Reconstruction and expansion
During the site selection and reconstruction of Yongqing temple, after careful investigation, relevant experts agreed that the site selection should be on the west side of Yingbin peninsula. Because overlooking Yingbin peninsula from the sky, it looks like a Buddha's palm and points to the West. After the reconstruction, Yongqing temple will become a shining pearl in the palm of the Buddha. Moreover, Yingbin peninsula is a pure land with clean sea, clean wind and clear water, shady trees, harmonious ecology and spotless environment.
The scale
Yongqing temple covers an area of more than 80 mu, with a construction area of about 9200 square meters. It imitates the style of "Jialan seven halls" in Song Dynasty, with harmonious layout, solemn and magnificent. The main hall in the temple is the Mahatma hall. Around the Mahatma hall are the Xieshan heavenly king hall, the Guanyin hall, the Manjusri hall, the Puxian hall, the dizang hall, the Sutra Pavilion, the Abbot's room, and the Zen hall. The main Buddha statues in each hall weigh about 17 to 19 tons. The 42 jade Buddhas in the hall are all made of the whole Burmese white jade, which is rare in the world and is the first in China.
Since ancient times, jade symbolizes the unique temperament of pure and pure. It is the best choice to create Buddha statues with jade to show the pure, pure and clever of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. With this design, Yongqing temple was awarded the title of "the temple with the most white jade Buddha statues in Myanmar" by Ginis headquarters of the big world in September 2009; it won the best project award of the 12th big world Ginis in 2010; it also won the heaviest white jade Amitabha Buddha of Myanmar and other 11 "top of the big world Ginis", and has won 13 guinis awards and awards so far.
