Yuchan mountain
Yuchan mountain is located next to the county seat of Luxian County, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. It is named for its mountain shape and stone shape. Yuchan mountain has always been famous for its secluded mountains, strange rocks, beautiful waters and many cultural relics in southern Sichuan. It was once a famous Buddhist mountain in southern Sichuan and was praised as the "Pearl of southern Sichuan" by general Zhang Aiping. Yuchan mountain scenic spot is a national AAA scenic spot, a provincial scenic spot, a provincial forest park and a provincial key cultural relics protection unit.
Yuchan mountain is 548 meters above sea level, with a total area of 52 square kilometers, more than 8000 mu of forest coverage, and an average annual temperature of 17.8 ℃. Yuchan mountain is characterized by unique toad culture resources and good forest vegetation for cultural sightseeing and leisure activities.
There are more than 400 cliff carvings of Ming Dynasty in Yuchan mountain. The large ones are more than ten feet, while the small ones are less than ten feet. The lines are smooth and the expression is lifelike. Among them, "thousand hand Guanyin", "jiulongyu Prince", "wudaotu", "Liu Haixi toad", "Eighteen Arhats floating on the sea" and so on, with fine carving and skillful skills, can be rated as fine art, and the tourists are full of praise. The relief of the picture of refugees, the representative work of the famous Chinese painting master Jiang Zhaohe, inspires the patriotism of generations of admirers.
Development history
According to historical records, Yuantong Temple has been built since the second year of Jingfu in Tang Dynasty. Every year at the Guanyin Festival, pilgrims from all over southern Sichuan gather here to chant scriptures, which is unprecedented. Therefore, the jade toad is also known as "xiaobaoding". Today, Yuchan mountain has a brilliant impression. Huang Tingjian, a great writer and calligrapher in the Song Dynasty, left "jade toad" drunk; Yang Shen, the number one scholar in the new capital of the Ming Dynasty, wrote "jin'ao Feng" wildly. By the Qing Dynasty, there were many temples on the mountain. In Luohan street, there are one hall, one level and one sky; the temple is towering and magnificent. It was once known as "the great monk is fifty-five thousand, but the little monk does not need to count.". The evening drum and the morning bell, the cigarettes, the pilgrims, and the flourishing of Buddhism are amazing.
During the reign of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, a fire destroyed the ancient buildings on the mountain. Today, more than 400 surviving Buddha stone carvings and Moyan statues on the site of Yuantong Temple still attract modern believers. The Ming Dynasty stone carvings with Buddhist legends and folktales as their themes are more than 70 meters in size and less than 20 feet in size. The figures are of different looks and unique styles. Among them, thousand handed Guanyin, jiulongyu prince, wudaotu, and eighteen Arhats floating chart are all excellent works of stone carving art.

There are more than 400 stone carvings of Ming Dynasty, including Sakyamuni, thousand handed Avalokitesvara, wudaotu, liuhaixichan, jiulongyutaizi, eighteen Arhats floating chart, Shutu and so on. The big ones are full of size, while the small ones are not full of size. The carvings are vivid and exquisite. There are stone inscriptions in the scenic spot, such as "the first famous mountain" written by Xu Xuan of the Five Dynasties, "Yuchan" written by Huang Tingjian of the Song Dynasty, "jin'ao peak" written by Yang Shen of the Ming Dynasty, and "Yuchan Congcui" written by Cheng Jun of the Qing Dynasty.

According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 240 kinds of trees in Yuchan mountain, including Ginkgo biloba, Zhennan, Hongdou, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, tall and straight Pinus elliottii and loblolly pine; the leaves look like mandarin jacket and white goose's paw; today's Yuchan mountain stretches for tens of miles and is green. There are more than 20 kinds of birds in the forest, such as cuckoo, thrush, crow, turtledove and Pulsatilla. They are forest guards. In Yuchan mountain scenic area, there are many places of interest. The longnao bridge on the Jiuqu River at the foot of the mountain is a stone flat bridge built during the Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty. Its piers are composed of stone dragons, unicorns, green lions and white elephants. Its exquisite workmanship can be called a rare treasure. In 1996, Luxian County moved to Fuji Town, taking the construction of Yuchan scenic spot as the leader to actively develop tourism. There is a cement road leading to Yuchan mountainside, and the mountain road leads to each scenic spot. A group of large relief sculptures created by famous Chinese painting master Jiang Zhaohe's earth shaking traditional Chinese painting "vagrant Pavilion" settled in Yuchan mountain, adding a new style to the ancient Yuchan.
The origin of mountain name
"The mountains are like the min'e school, and the peaks are like jagged peaks. Xianyou still lives in the crane, and the monk also lives in the toad. The moon hangs in the sky mirror, and the pine wind blows at the toad. There is a poem to mend the scabied wall, but to add to ge Teng. " This is a poem by Yang Sheng'an, the famous poet and the number one scholar of Sichuan in Ming Dynasty, praising Yuchan mountain. Yuchan mountain is located 35 kilometers south of Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. It has undulating peaks and lush trees. It is named after the fact that most of the rocks are like toads. One day, Huang Tingjian, a famous writer and calligrapher of the Song Dynasty, visited Yuchan mountain. He was intoxicated by the scenery of the mountain and the water. In particular, many toads paid homage to him, which made him feel at ease and forget to return. The old abbot of Yuantong Temple on the mountain had heard a lot about Huang Tingjian, so he welcomed him into the temple and offered Yuchan tea and Yuchan wine. He drank tea and talked about Yuchan stone on the mountain. Seeing Huang Tingjian talking and laughing, the old host was very excited, so he asked the monks to put on the four treasures of the study and asked Huang Tingjian to present them with ink. Huang Tingjian readily agreed and wrote "jade toad" in impromptu. Due to Huang Tingjian's drunken writing, he wrote a little bit of the word "jade" on it, leaving a good story of "drunken writing jade toad". Later, the monk engraved the word "Yuchan" on the cliff and renamed Yuantong Temple "Yuchan Temple". The Moyan statue of Ming Dynasty can be regarded as a unique one in Yuchan mountain. On the cliff of Jinao peak, the main peak, there are more than 400 Moyan statues of Ming Dynasty, such as thousand handed Guanyin, six arm Guanyin, liantai Guanyin, etc. The statue is simple and elegant, with smooth lines, delicate carving, well proportioned, lifelike and lifelike. Among them, the composition of the picture of enlightenment is unique and thought-provoking: under the whirling bodhi tree, there is a believer sitting with his face on his knee, meditating, giving people the feeling of realizing Zen.

Thousand-hand Bodhisattva
The thousand handed Avalokitesvara is the moment of Ming Dynasty. The stone carvings of Ming Dynasty have a history of more than 600 years, and the well preserved ones are rare in the whole country. There are more than 400 stone carvings like this in Yuchan. The statue of thousand handed Avalokitesvara is 5.6 meters high and 3.5 meters wide. It has 11 heads, 36 arms, thousands of hands on both sides, many hands of law enforcement tools, and thousands of hands have eyes, just like a peacock. Thousand hands means boundless power, thousand eyes means infinite insight. Every year at the Guanyin Festival, believers from southern Sichuan come here to worship.
Picture of refugees
Yuchan mountain is intoxicated with its beautiful scenery and many places of interest. It also attracts Chinese and foreign tourists with the stone relief of the large figure on the stone wall of jin'ao peak. The stone relief of a large figure on the stone wall of jin'ao peak in Yuchan mountain is a new scenic spot. This group of stone relief is based on Mr. Jiang Zhaohe's representative work "the picture of refugees". The construction of stone relief began in July 1987 and was completed in April 1989. The total length of the relief is 45 meters and the height is 3 meters. With more than 100 characters, the picture comprehensively shows the tragic scene of the Japanese aggressor's trampling, the people's miserable life, the sorrow everywhere, and the corpses everywhere.
The picture of refugees by Jiang Zhaohe was created in the enemy occupied area of Beiping during the Anti Japanese war in 1943. The original picture is 27 meters long and 2 meters high. At that time, Mr. Jiang Zhaohe lived in Peiping and witnessed the tragic scene brought by the Japanese invasion army to the Chinese nation. The cruel reality shook his heart strongly. So he angrily picked up his brush and wrote the picture of refugees with blood and tears.
