Miaogong reservoir, located in Chengde, Hebei Province, is a long, broad and open river. The reservoir is located on the main stream of the Ethan river. It is mainly built for flood control and disaster resistance. At the same time, it is also for irrigation, power generation and other comprehensive utilization. Miaogong reservoir covers an area of over 2300 square kilometers, accounting for almost half of the whole basin of the Ethan River, which shows its large scale and high utilization rate. In addition to practical use, Miaogong reservoir is also an excellent tourist area. The environment here is quiet and elegant, and the air is fresh. People who visit here are attracted by the scenery here. When you come here, you can also fish by the river. I believe it is a good way for you to relax. Miaogong reservoir, located on the main stream of Yixun River, 30km south of Weichang County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, is a large (II) type water conservancy project with flood control as the main purpose and comprehensive utilization of irrigation and power generation as well. Historically, it is the place where the emperors of Qing Dynasty held the ceremony of "Mulan autumn service". After liberation, a reservoir was built here for flood control and irrigation in the downstream, so it is called Miaogong reservoir.
The controlled basin area of the reservoir is 2370 square kilometers, accounting for 54.5% of the area of the Ethan River Basin, with a total storage capacity of 183 million cubic meters. The project is designed according to the flood with 100 year return period and checked according to the flood with 2000 year return period. The design earthquake intensity is 6 degrees.
General situation of reservoir
The large (2) reservoir on the main stream of Yixun river is located in the south of Weichang Manchu and Mongolian Autonomous County, Hebei Province. The total storage capacity is 183 million cubic meters, and the controlled drainage area is 2370 square kilometers. The main purpose of the reservoir is flood control, and irrigation, power generation and breeding are taken into account.
The construction of the reservoir started in 1959. It was impounded in July 1960 and basically completed in September 1961. However, the spillway tunnel and hydropower station have not yet been built. In 1970, the spillway and power station were continued. In 1976, the dam was increased by 2.2 meters. From 2003 to 2005, comprehensive reinforcement was carried out to increase the regulated water volume by 10 million cubic meters. The flood control standard of the reservoir is 100 year flood design and 2000 year flood check.
Key project
The reservoir complex is composed of dam, spillway, water conveyance tunnel, spillway tunnel, sand discharge tunnel and hydropower station. The dam is a homogeneous earth dam with a length of 400 meters, a maximum height of 44.2 meters, a crest width of 5 meters, and a 1.2-meter-high masonry wave wall built on the crest; the auxiliary dam is on the left side of the main dam with a length of 140 meters; the spillway is on the left Bank of the main dam with a maximum discharge of 1900 cubic meters per second for the normal spillway and 306 cubic meters per second for the extraordinary spillway; the water conveyance tunnel is between the left bank of the dam and the spillway with a maximum discharge The maximum discharge capacity of the spillway tunnel is 216 cubic meters per second, and the desilting bottom tunnel is added in the reinforcement project from 2003 to 2005, with the maximum discharge capacity of 579 cubic meters per second.
Reservoir benefit
After the completion of the reservoir, the flood control standard of the downstream Longhua County has been raised from once-in-20 years to once-in-100 years. In the past 40 years, there have been 12 floods in the Yixun river which are more than 500 cubic meters per second of the safe discharge of the downstream channel of the reservoir. The peak shaving rate of the reservoir is more than 84%, which ensures the safe flood flow of the downstream channel and protects the safety of 9 towns, 1 county, Chengwei highway and Shatong Railway on both sides of the river The reservoir supplies 30 million cubic meters of water to the irrigation area every year, with an irrigation area of 6000 hectares. By the end of 2004, the hydropower station has generated 80.582 million kwh. From 1968 to 1987, a total of 159.08 tons of fish were caught.
Near the reservoir, there is the "Yuanshen Temple of Dunren town" built by Emperor Jiaqing of Qing Dynasty when he visited the Great Wall, commonly known as the "temple palace", hence the name of the reservoir. Since 1994, the upper reaches of the reservoir have been listed as the key control area of soil and water conservation in Hebei Province. From 1994 to 1998, the first phase of the project was carried out, with a total area of 511.78 square kilometers, over 70% of which was under comprehensive control, and the area of forest and grass was up to 100% In 1999-2003, the second phase control project was implemented, covering an area of 200 square kilometers; in 2000-2005, the Beijing Tianjin sandstorm source control project was implemented in the upper reaches of the reservoir, covering an area of 139.25 square kilometers.
geographical position
It is located in the southwest of siheyong Town, Hebei weichangman Mongolian Autonomous County, Chengde City, Hebei Province, surrounded by mountains. The altitude is more than 770 meters. The terrain is high in the West and low in the southeast. It is 55.5 kilometers away from Longhua County downstream of the reservoir. It is a shallow mountain shrub grassland area. The annual average temperature is 4.7 ℃, and the lowest temperature is - 28.7 ℃. The highest temperature is 38.9 ℃, the annual precipitation is about 460 mm, and the frost free period is 137 days. The Weichang branch line of Chengchi Expressway passes through the middle of the hillside here, and you can overlook the whole picture of Miaogong reservoir from the car.
scenic spot
Now Miaogong reservoir has become a local tourist attraction. Many people come here during holidays, such as boating, fishing and picnics. The water area of Miaogong reservoir is wide, and the scenery is charming. From a distance, there is a sense of vastness. Along the dam, there are towering cliffs. In the clouds, there are many mountains and towering peaks! Just like a beautiful landscape painting, the right side of the reservoir dam is the place where the emperors of the Qing Dynasty held the "Mulan autumn service" ceremony. The Qing Dynasty emperor came to surround the hunting palace. The palace no longer exists, but the pine trees outside the palace wall are still lush. These hundred year old pines are beautiful and have been listed as national protected cultural relics.
