Lava tunnel

Lava tunnel is underground lava cave, also known as lava river. Taking the Jingbohu lava tunnel as an example, in the west of Ning'an city and about 30 kilometers northwest of Jingbohu, the Jingbohu Volcanic Group erupted more than 10000 years ago, overflowing magma and flowing down the valley to the southeast. The outer layer of the tunnel cooled and solidified into a hard shell, while the inner part continued to flow hot underground, and the magma ran out, eventually forming an underground lava cave. Five large lava caves have been found under the lava platform of more than 200 square kilometers.

Interior landscape

The cave is up to 6 meters high, up to 30 meters wide and up to 500 meters long, such as the underground dome village. Due to the geological process of lava, various fantastic shapes are formed. The cave is full of twists and turns. It is lifelike like a dragon carved like a carving; there are waterfalls falling down, glittering and translucent; the lower parts of the two walls of the underground corridor are surrounded by multi-layer lava beds, like xumizuo. The bottom of the cave is flat like water waves, and there is a turntable at the corner. In midsummer, the temperature in the cave is usually about 0 ℃, and there is still ice and snow in the cave.

According to scientists, the "lava tunnel" was formed during a volcanic eruption 4000-8000 years ago. It looks like a Karst "cave" in Guilin limestone area, but it is essentially different from a cave.

Best travel time

The main characteristics of Mudanjiang climate are cool in summer and autumn, less wind. So the best travel time is from June to September every year. During this period, the average temperature is 17.3 ℃, and the water level is also the highest season in the whole year. The waterfall is quite spectacular, and there is little wind. Therefore, the lake is flat as a mirror, and the characteristics of "Jingpo Lake" are more prominent.

Transportation guide

It takes only four and a half hours for tourists to go to Jingpo Lake, pass Mudanjiang City, take a high-speed train from Harbin to Mudanjiang, and then take a bus to Jingpo villa, the center of the scenic spot. It takes about two and a half hours.
