Tuojing Bay
Tuojingwan is the first scenic spot to enter the Kanas River Valley. It is called "botomuyi" in Kazakh language, which means camel neck. Kanas river forms a big bend just like camel neck here.
Tuojing Bay (1250m above sea level)
During the Quaternary glacial period hundreds of thousands of years ago, the glaciers in Altai mountain once extended downward to this point. Due to glacial erosion, the river valley section was in a wide U-shape. After the glacier retreated, the earth's crust uplifted many times, the river became deep, formed a canyon, and formed at least four terraces on both sides of the river bed, which recorded the periodic rise of the earth's crust.
There are dense forests around tuojing Bay, and the main tree species are Larix sibirica LDB., Picea obovata LDB., Populus tremula L., Betula pendula Roth., Rosa acularis L., R. spinosissima L., etc. This is one of the most beautiful autumn spots in the park.
Why do leaves change color? When autumn comes, the temperature decreases, and the leaves of broad-leaved trees begin to dry up and fall off. With the destruction and decomposition of chlorophyll in the leaves, the yellow and orange of lutein and carotene in the leaves will appear. In addition, the leaves of some plants also produce anthocyanins, which are a kind of pigment with unstable color and show red in acidic environment.
