Shenzha Nature Reserve was built in 1993, near Naqu Shenzha county.

Shenzha Nature Reserve was built in 1993, which means "in front of a pitfire tube shaped gully" in Tibetan. It is located in the middle of Tibet Autonomous Region, the west of Naqu region, between Gangdise mountain and selinco, the second largest lake in northern Tibet.
It is located in the south of the inner flow area of Qiangtang, a broad lake basin with dense lakes, covering an area of 40000 square kilometers. The water area of Grenco in the area is 476 square kilometers, the lake is 4650 meters above sea level, and the annual precipitation is 300 mm. Due to the supply of glaciers and snow melting in the Gangdise mountains, the salinity of the lake water is low, which is suitable for the growth and reproduction of aquatic organisms and waterfowl.

In particular, the low-lying Lake area is widely distributed in marshes, meadows and beaches, and the inland rivers such as siruzangbu and yongzhuzangbu make it a good inland wetland and water ecosystem, and become an ideal habitat for the national protected animals black necked Crane, which is the highest altitude and largest area in the seven existing black necked crane reserves in China. Hundreds of red willows are rare in northern Tibet.
