Meinong Town
Meinong Town is located on a hilly land in the northeast corner of Kaohsiung City. Meinong, a Hakka town with simple folk customs, has about 90% of its residents of Hakka nationality. It is the most complete town to retain Hakka culture. In 1736, the Hakkas established "minong village" here, and the history of this town has been started ever since. The most outstanding feature of Meinong is its exquisite and simple oil paper umbrella art.
Meinong, located in Kaohsiung County in southern Taiwan, is as beautiful as its name. Meinong, originally known as "minong", was named "minong" because it was located in the beautiful mountains and rivers with water as its source. All the people in the town took "Nong" for farming. It was renamed Meinong in 1883 and has been used up to now. It has the most beautiful scenery and Hakka customs.
Relying on the province, Yundu Meinong Town proposed for the first time to build a 450 square kilometer "Puyang River Ecological Economic Zone". Taohuayuan leisure resort, as a key start-up area in the economic zone, has a planning area of 53000 square kilometers. It is planned to become a leisure resort integrating vacation, cultural tourism, sports and health care. Taobei new village has been built as a demonstration village, and sightseeing agricultural park, eco-tourism, Taohuayuan Holiday Hotel and landscape real estate are under construction.

history
Meinong's paper umbrella tradition originated more than 60 years ago. A Guangdong master came here to teach us how to make paper umbrellas. Since then, it has gradually become the most distinctive industry in the local area. Meinong paper umbrella is mainly made of bamboo. To complete a beautiful and durable paper umbrella, more than 10 steps must be taken, such as sawing bamboo, soaking in water, threading, stringing and pasting umbrella paper. There are many umbrella stores on both sides of the main roads in the town, the most famous of which are guangjinsheng, guanghuaxing and guangrongxing.
In addition to paper umbrellas, another characteristic industry of Meinong is tobacco, which is also known as the "tobacco kingdom". During the smoking period from mid December to next March, you can see a small loft style skylight in the street. However, because the technology has not been improved, the scene of smoke rising from the smoke building is no longer seen, but more than 1000 smoke buildings are still very unique. In addition, zhonglihe memorial hall, Chaoyuan temple in Jianshan, shitoumu, huangdiecuigu, and Zhongzheng lake are also scenic spots worth visiting.
