The former residence of Mr. Tan Kah Kee is located in houwei corner of Jimei Town, 149 today's Kah Kee road. It was built in 1918. The former residence is a small two-story building. It was destroyed by a Japanese plane in 1938 and rebuilt later. It was not rebuilt until it was completed.

Behind the bronze statue of Tan Kah Kee, Chairman Mao Zedong's inscription "overseas Chinese flag, national glory" is engraved on the stone screen. Return hall, built in 1962. Layout features
Jimei is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese in China. Looking up along the long seawall, you can see the blue sea and the golden sand. Along the long seawall paved with long stones, there are many western style buildings. This is the famous Jimei school village. Not far away, there is an open land with trees. It is quiet and secluded. An elegant building stands in front of it. This is the former residence of Mr. Tan Kah kee.
In the courtyard stands a full-length bronze statue of Mr. Tan Kah kee. Behind the statue is a square white marble with eight gold characters inscribed by Chairman Mao Zedong: "the flag of overseas Chinese, national glory.".
The reception room, dining room, working room and bedroom on the second floor are all set up as they were before Mr. Chen died. A three story building on the west side of the former residence is the exhibition hall of Mr. Tan Kah Kee's life and deeds. It is displayed in three parts: "doing business in Nanyang, deeply feeling for the country", "investing in education, indomitable", "sincere patriotism and dedication". It shows Mr. Tan Kah Kee's wisdom in business, diligence and frugality, noble moral character of investing in education and sincere patriotism.
On the left side of the second floor of the western style white house, there is a rectangular room at the corner of the stairs. This is Mr. Jiageng's sick office. Enter the door to see a very ordinary old wooden table and two old sofas. There are many small medicine bottles and a very old abacus on the table. Look at that pair of sofa carefully again, discover is not a pair. One is new and the other is old. On the armrest of the sofa is a block of wood (for writing).
The suite in the room had an old-fashioned wooden frame bed with a pair of old pillows on it. There is a door on the right side of the dormitory leading to the bathroom. There is only a sitting toilet and a water tank. There is a crack in the upper part of the water tank.
Behind the marble, there is a hall with three rooms. Under the eaves, there is a large plaque, which reads "return hall". In the middle of the hall is a large photograph of Tan Kah kee. According to reports, this is the place where Mr. Tan Kah Kee often takes a rest.
Along the long corridor, turn around the hall of return. Behind it is a two or three storey building with Gothic style. This is the place where Mr. Tan Kah Kee lived after he returned to China. It has become a museum of Tan Kah Kee's life and articles.

Life of the characters
Chen Jiageng (1874-1961), also known as Jiageng, is a famous patriotic leader of overseas Chinese. On September 12, 1874 (October 21, 1874), Chen Jiageng was born in Jimei village, rendeli, Tongan County, Fujian Province. At the age of 9, he studied in nanxuan private school. At the age of 17, he went to Singapore to help his father run a rice shop.
Soon after his father went bankrupt, Tan Kah Kee first paid off all his father's debts and gained a good reputation. Since then, the business has been smooth. In Singapore, Tan Kah Kee first introduced rubber and planted it in a large area. He first processed rubber products and put them into large-scale industrial production.
At the same time, we also run pineapple cannery. We also expand our business to Thailand, Malaya and Xiamen. In its heyday, it opened more than 30 factories, more than 100 shops, cultivated more than 15000 acres of rubber and pineapple gardens, and employed more than 32000 employees. In 1925, he became the "rubber king" of Southeast Asia, a famous entrepreneur and a millionaire.
