Lianzhu tower

Lianzhu tower is located in Wufeng mountain in the east of Enshi City. The mountain peaks are like five pearls, which are connected with each other, so they are also called lianzhufeng. There is a pagoda on the first peak of Lianzhu, named Lianzhu pagoda because of the mountain. It was built in 1831 and has a history of more than 150 years.

Lianzhu tower is only three kilometers away from the city. The gate of Lianzhu pagoda is in the form of Yuanting. There are one stone drum and one stone column on both sides of the gate. The couplet on the stone column is: "Xiuting five peaks, Kui Bi can, Lingzhong six cities, Mian Shang Xin", and the banner is "Shan Hui Chuan Mei". The hollow brick walls on both sides of the gate of Lianzhu pagoda stretch out to encircle the whole mountain and form a wall. On the wall of Lianzhu tower, the vines are lingering, and the trees are shady outside the wall.

The Pearl Tower at night is even more beautiful. It is like a pearl standing in the east of Enshi. At the windows of each floor, it will be shining with brilliant brilliance.

Lianzhu tower is a key cultural relic protection unit of the Autonomous Prefecture. In 1982, the Provincial Department of culture allocated funds for renovation. Now every holiday, visitors come in an endless stream.

Lianzhu tower is a brick tower with eight sides, covering an area of 250 square meters. It is divided into seven layers with a height of 34.8 meters. There are 129 spiral stone ladders in it, from the first layer to the seventh layer. Tasha is made of seven big tin beads. On each corner of the eight towers, a statue of the king of heaven is carved, with a ferocious face, open chest and abdomen, squatting or standing, and holding hands up. The shapes have their own characteristics. Each tower had 8 bronze bells, and there were 56 seven towers. When the wind blows, the wind chime is buzzing and loud, which can be heard by the residents in the city and farmers around the tower. It is a distinctive cultural phenomenon. Unfortunately, now the wind chime does not exist, and has not been restored. The sea water and lotus are carved all over the base of the pagoda, which is a metaphor for the story of Buddha born in lotus and lotus born in the sea.

The arched gate of Lianzhu tower is 4.5 meters high and 2 meters wide. The stone pillars and forehead are carved with unicorn, dragon, Phoenix, fish, figures and other patterns and flower decorations. It is engraved with the following words: "seven levels of solemnity, the weather is in view, the five peaks of Zhuo Xiu, the sky is open, and the pictures help civilization" (written by Wu Shimin, the governor of Shinan Prefecture in July, 11 years old of Daoguang). The tower is the tallest on the first floor. Its lower part and footings are all made of huge strips of blue stone. The caisson on the top of the cone is decorated with bright flowers. It is dedicated to the Buddha statues in the Central Plains. From the first floor to the seventh floor, there are stone steps, which are narrower and steeper as they go up. Except for the fifth floor, which has only three doors, there are four arched doors with a height of 1.8 meters and a width of 0.6 meters on each floor, such as southeast, northeast, Southwest and northwest, which are open for tourists to climb high and look far away. In the middle of the seventh floor, there is a big wooden column to prop up the Tasha.
