Xingang Nature Reserve
The nature reserve is a provincial nature reserve established with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's Government in 1976. The total area is 933 hectares. The main protected objects are rare animals such as water deer and their habitats.
Xingang nature reserve is located in Heyuan County, central and eastern Guangdong Province, on the North Bank of Dongjiang River. The reserve is composed of Daye mountain and Hedong mountain, 406 and 451 meters above sea level. Between the two mountains is the old road of xinfengting. After the completion of xinfengting reservoir, the two mountains became prominent parts of the "peninsula", 350 meters higher than the water surface. Dayeshan is composed of three small fault rifts in the north-south direction. The eastern part is high and steep, stretching from north to south. The western part is cone-shaped and surrounded by many valleys. The terrain of Hedong mountain is a broad and difficult valley. The climate is characterized by the transition from the south subtropical zone to the middle subtropical zone. The annual average temperature is 21.1 ℃, the extreme low temperature is 3.8 ℃, the extreme high temperature is 39 ℃, and the annual accumulated temperature is 7137.7 ℃ greater than or equal to 10 ℃. The average annual precipitation is 1899.7mm, accounting for 80% from April to September. The soil is transitional, below 250 meters above sea level is latosol red soil, above 250 meters is red soil.
Introduction to scenic spots
There are more than 80 families and 400 species of vascular plants in the reserve. The zonal vegetation is seasonal rain forest and monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest, which has been destroyed. At present, the vegetation is secondary forest. In the valley, there are more than 30 kinds of seasonal forests, such as yajiaomu, Xiangye, dayeji, Banfenghe, Tuo, etc., including alternifolia, huangmaoge, etc. under the forest, there are more demons, and more than 30 kinds of vines, such as Spatholobus Spatholobus, maimateng, etc. Monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest is mainly distributed in the hillside and valley above 250 meters. The main tree species are Heng, bang, Zhuhe, shanwubai, Shandong, Luofu persimmon, etc. Above 350 meters above sea level, it is mainly composed of pine, tiaojinniang, Rhododendron, Liquidambar formosana, gangsong, mangqi, Maocao, etc. It belongs to the third level of national protection, including half Maple lotus, etc. The common wild animals in the nature reserve are bearded antelope, wild boar, porcupine, demon, Guokui, fox, mountain mouse, otter, etc. The second class animals under state protection include underwater, gazelle and water period.
