The whole project includes two parts: land engineering and hydraulic engineering. The land engineering mainly includes five building units, namely administration and competition management center, athletes' apartment, athletes' center, media center, logistics support and function center, as well as supporting environmental engineering. The water engineering includes main breakwater, secondary breakwater, jetty wharf, Olympic Memorial Wall Wharf, revetment reconstruction, etc Engineering. Among them, the port area enclosed by the Olympic Memorial Wall Wharf, the secondary breakwater and the jetty is about 15.5 hectares, and the harbor area enclosed by the Main Breakwater and the jetty is about 7.5 hectares. In addition, some temporary buildings and facilities will be added during the games to better meet the needs of Olympic sailing. For example, a temporary measurement shed will be built on the jetty and a Floating Wharf will be built on the west side of the Olympic Memorial Wall Wharf for the use of the spectator ship parking area.

Administration and competition management center
The administration and competition management center is located in the north of the competition area, which is a high security area, with a total construction area of 16800 square meters, 3-6 floors above ground and 1 floor underground. The functions of the center during the competition include the venue management office area, restaurant, wharf management organization, security organization office area, competition management center, VIP reception (VIP) and other functional areas. After the competition, it will be used as the training base for the National Sailing Team.
Olympic Village (residential area)
The Olympic village of Qingdao Olympic sailing competition is a sub village of Beijing Olympic Village, so it is called "Olympic sub village". It is located in the north side of the competition area and belongs to a high security area. The total construction area is about 91000 m2, with 7-17 floors above the ground and 2 floors underground. Games time functions include residential areas, etc. After the game, it will be used as a five-star hotel together with the athletes center.
Athletes Center
The athletes center is located between the Olympic Village (residential area) and the land parking area. It is a high security area with a total construction area of about 16600 square meters, three floors above the ground and two floors below the ground. The Games time function includes the Olympic village international area and some competition areas.
Venue Media Centres
The venue media center is located in the south end of the competition area, which is a high security area with a total construction area of about 8100 square meters, two floors above ground and one floor underground. The functions of the game time include news propaganda and TV broadcasting. It will be used as a sailing club after the race.
Logistics support and supply center
Logistics support and supply center is located in the eastern edge of the competition area, which is a high security area with a total construction area of about 5800 square meters, two floors above ground and one floor underground. The functions during the games include logistics supply management office (including volunteer rest) and venue cleaning and maintenance office. Used as a commercial or fitness club after the game.
Olympic Memorial Wall Wharf
The Olympic Wall Wharf is located in the west of the parking area of the referee ship, with a total length of 208 meters and a width of 30 meters. The caisson heavy vertical structure is adopted. The main function is to separate the berthing areas of different ships, meet the classification requirements of waters, and set up the Olympic torch platform.
Main Breakwater Wharf
The main breakwater is located in the south of the port area, with a total length of 534m and a width of 47m. The slope structure is adopted on the outside and the caisson gravity structure is adopted on the inside. The main function is to prevent the waves from attacking the whole harbor area, and ensure the safety of the buildings (structures) in the harbor area and the stable berthing conditions to meet the requirements of the competition. At the same time, the vertical quay on the inner side of the main breakwater can dock various types of yachts, and provide functional rooms such as maintenance and boathouse.
Survey hall Wharf
The survey hall wharf is located between two basins in the port area, with a total length of 316m and a width of 60m. It adopts caisson vertical structure. The main function is to meet the sailing survey requirements during the race. The survey hall will be temporary.
Land parking area
The land parking area is located between the athletes center and the venue media center, with a total area of about 30500 square meters. The shoreline is a vertical quay wall with a launching ramp. Its main function is to serve as a place for ships to park.

"Sea water" air conditioning technology
On January 7, 2008, the staff inspected the working condition of the unit in the seawater source heat pump air conditioning system room. This winter, Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center adopts seawater source heat pump air conditioning system for heating for the first time, saving energy and reducing emission by nearly 30% compared with ordinary air conditioning system. Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center is the venue of Beijing Olympic sailing competition. In the architectural design, the seawater obtained locally is fully used as the cold and heat source of the heat pump system. The seawater source heat pump air conditioning system has been successfully designed to provide hot and cold air for the media center with a building area of 8138 square meters, creating a precedent for the application of seawater source air conditioning technology in public buildings in China.
