Yantan Park

Yantan park is located in the northeast corner of Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. It used to be one of the 18 Sand Islands in the Yellow River. It was named after the geese used to live here in the early years. In 1958, a 20 kilometer round beach dam and asphalt road were built to cross three tributaries on the Yellow River beach. The river beach is connected with the urban area, and there is an artificial lake in the park. Later, Yantan Park and swimming pool are built, which is one of the tourist attractions in Lanzhou. Yantan park is an idyllic Park famous for its lake light, water color, flowers, plants, fruits and trees.

Scale of scenic spots

Yantan park is located in the eastern suburb of Lanzhou City Yantan tip, is a riverside park built in 1956. Yantan is composed of 18 Sand Islands of different sizes in the middle of the river, formerly known as "shibajiadongtan", namely duanjiatan, fujiatan, junjiatan, lijiatan, Zhangjiatan, sujiatan, yangjiatan, songjiatan, liujiadatan, liujiaxiaotan, dayantan, xiaoyantan, nanmiantan, beimiantan, luotuotan, tanjianzi, chuantan and gaotan. Originally, the river was crisscross, the reeds were overgrown, the trees were full of shade, the hundred crows were contending, and the geese from south to north often came here to inhabit, so it had this name. "Flying wild geese on Yantan" was once listed as a scenic spot of Lanzhou in local historical records. Now the Yantan is the continuous siltation and expansion of each beach, gradually connected into a piece, collectively known as Yantan. It turns out that each beach has its own name, and they are still together today. Yantan area is small, standing in the middle of the river, can be called a tiny area, but the shade, rich in vegetables, fruits, very rich. Before 1949, Yantan was blocked by the Yellow River. Tourists mainly made rafts to ferry, which was neither safe nor convenient.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Yantan has been continuously transformed through planning. The 20 kilometer round beach dam and asphalt road connect with the urban area. Yantan Park and swimming pool will be opened up on the beach. In the construction of the park, people filled swamps and water depressions, excavated an artificial lake 700 meters long and 80 meters wide, and built a long hall on the high embankment beside the lake. The canal water flows through the front of the hall. It is cool and pleasant. All kinds of trees are planted around the lake. The branches are fluttering, reflecting the water, fluctuating and moving. There are all kinds of boats in the lake for boating. To the north of the lake, there is a library, reading room, tea garden, canteen and flower house with elegant furnishings. The swimming pool on the east side of the lake is very busy when it attracts more tourists in midsummer and early autumn. Now, Yantan park is expanding ten times as large as it is today. The South Lake area of Yantan park is appearing in front of visitors with a more colorful appearance.

Features of scenic spots

The new Nanhu Lake, built in 1983, is located in the southwest of the old park. The water area is 155 mu. There are rockeries, pavilions and bridges in the middle of the lake. Looking to the west, there is an island on the surface of the lake, on which wild geese and various waterfowl are suitable to be raised. It is matched with two groups of wild geese flying sculptures on the opposite shore of the island. It is named "fangzhousiyan", which is one of the eight ancient sceneries in Lanzhou.

History and culture

The name of Yantan comes from the legend of "falling wild geese in Pingsha". It is said that a long time ago, flocks of geese came from afar. They liked the land with rich water and beautiful scenery, so they built nests and bred. Over time, it has become a habitat for geese.

Historical evolution

It is a beautiful park with rippling lakes, pavilions and pavilions, and rich pastoral scenery. There are 139 employees in the park. In 1997, with the strong support of the municipal government and the Municipal Bureau of landscape architecture, Nanhu Lake was renovated. At present, the total area of the park is 277.4 mu, the water area is 98 mu, and the land area is 179.4 mu, of which the green area is 116.28 mu, and the road and building area is 29.15 mu. Nanhu District is mainly a combination of shaping and nature, with nature connecting the East, middle and West sections of the whole lake. The lake is open, rippling, majestic and picturesque, which is a good place for boating. The East Gate court of the park is a group of classic buildings with national characteristics of concrete imitation wood structure. It is the mutual contrast of brick, grey tile and river green marble gate posts, which is harmonious, beautiful, solemn and simple. Walking down the steps, you can see a green lawn, which gives you a sense of comfort and broad vision. The lake is beautiful. The park is divided into two main roads, North and south. The north main road is decorated elegantly and quietly by the South footpath with colored tiles and the trees and lawns. It is a good place for tourists to relax. Pengdao Yaotai, also known as Huxin Pavilion, is located on the island surrounded by water. The building is of octagonal double cornice, with bucket arch structure. It is a summer teahouse with beautiful and elegant style. It is built in the west end, surrounded by water lilies and other aquatic plants. When you taste tea and listen to the sound of rain, you can appreciate the meaning of "drizzle on lotus leaves, breeze on lotus fragrance". On the basis of Yanqi bridge, a waterside pavilion and a long corridor are built in the park, which is integrated with the Yellow River scenery. The building integrates the corridor, pavilion and pavilion, and two lotus pools are built. Wuquan academy, located in the front of Hubei Province, is a government Academy in Lanzhou. It is also known as the four major academies in Lanzhou with provincial Lanshan academy and qiuguhe County Gaolan Academy. It was founded in the 24th year of Jiaqing (1891 AD). In 1998, Tongwei road was built. In order to protect the cultural relics and historic sites, the main buildings such as the lecture hall and Mingdao Hall of the Academy were moved to Yantan park with the approval of the municipal government. The project started in September 1999 and lasted for three years. It was completed in October 2001. It covers an area of 2001 square meters, with 628.79 square meters of blockhouses.

Today's Nanhu Lake has clear water, red flowers and willows, green grass and vigorous growth of trees. There are three places for tourists to have fun and rest; there are more than 100 amusement projects, such as pedal boats, fixed oars and electric boats; there are pirate boats, children's bumper cars and elevated airplanes that young people are most interested in.

The park is located in the old course of the Yellow River and belongs to the beach area. In terms of greening, the park adopts the method of adjusting measures to local conditions and selects suitable tree species. In terms of plant planting and landscaping, the park mainly adopts natural style, with lawn as the main color. A large area of lawn is planted in the lakeside slope and flower beds. In recent years, the lawn is 19618 square meters, with evergreen trees as the main tree species, Cedrus, juniper, Platycladus orientalis, spruce as the main scenery Tree, there are solitary plant, cluster plant, planting with each other, street trees mainly Sophora japonica, play a role in shading, but also with a variety of flowering shrubs, cloves, plum, Rosa, Berberis, rose, rose, rose, peony, etc., and build a small peony garden, showing the color, fragrance, shape of the trees, and planting a small number of valuable trees, such as ginkgo, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, etc 4509 trees were planted, including 3911 trees and 598 flowering shrubs.

Wuquan Academy

Wuquan Academy in Yantan Park of Lanzhou, founded in 1819 ad, occupies an important position in the history of local culture and education in Lanzhou. As an official educational institution, Wuquan academy, together with provincial Lanshan academy and qiuguhe County Gaolan academy, is the only cultural relic in Lanzhou. Its original site is located in xianhou street, Chengguan District, Lanzhou City, covering an area of 3200 square meters. After the reconstruction, the gate, inverted seat, lecture hall, lecture hall, retreat room, Mingdao hall and Library of Wuquan academy are well arranged, maintaining its original architectural style and basic connotation.

Tips
