It took him only 20 years to become one of the senior generals of the Qing army.
history
The first place of Wang Zhanyuan's house is located in Jintang 2nd Road (Huaan street, now Hebei District) in the old Austrian concession. The land was purchased by Cao Rui and entrusted by the manager of Chinachem Changbu store, and shared by Cao Rui, Wang Zhanyuan and Du Xijun. Soon after, he moved to another new building (located in the east of the intersection of progressive road and Ping'an Street in today's Hebei District) at the junction of the old Austria and the Italian Concession. The building has two floors and looks like a castle. After being abandoned by Wang Zhanyuan, it was borrowed by Tianjin mayor Nan Guixin and Cui Tingxian. It was also used by Tianjin flour exchange, and now it is occupied by a textile company.
Around 1926, Wang Zhanyuan built a larger house on boros Road (now near xiaoguangming cinema, Yantai Road, Heping District) in the British concession and moved there until his death on September 14, 1934. The house was later sold to the animal products company. After reconstruction, it was used by Tianjin animal products import and export company.
Wang Zhanyuan also owned a lot of profitable rental properties in the concessions of old Italy, Austria and Russia. In 1917, he built houses and alleys in the depression area of Ping'an Street, named huaiyinli after its hall name "sanhuaitang". In 1920, the nameless simple bungalows between Xiangjia Hutong, Jianguo Road and Sanjing road were demolished and built into new lanes, which also became a part of huaiyinli, later known as Da huaiyinli.
His real estate in the Old French and British concessions is as follows:
First, after 1920, he bought land for building rental in renheli (now Henan Li), which is located in the French concession pocheng Road (now Henan Road in Heping District). The renter is Gao Pinsan, a staff member of Yihe bank. Yihe bank was originally established in Hankou by Ni Shaoyong of Wang Zhanyuan's school. It was called qianshanhou bank, and later moved to Jinmen with Wang Zhanyuan.
The second is the construction of Zhonghe Li Building on July 14 Road (now Changchun Road, Heping District) in the French concession.
Third, yishengli building was built in Huangjia garden for rent.
Fourth, in the British concession dunqiao Road (now Heping District Xi'an Road) zhongyili building more than 100 rental.
Fifth, there are more than 200 houses for rent in qianyili, Moxi Road (now Nanhai Road, Heping District) in the British concession.
The three western style buildings at No. 64-70 Dali road in Heping District were built by Wang Zhanyuan's three sons. The layout and pattern of each building are consistent. The design is a mixed structure with three floors and flat roof. The plane layout of each building is asymmetric. The protruding part in front of the first floor is a semicircular glass flower hall. The balcony is in the front of the first floor, and the concrete canopy is protruded from the roof of the second floor. There are also rooms in the back half of the balcony, which can be regarded as the third floor. Its design is quite ingenious.
Wang Zhanyuan also built many real estate in the prosperous areas of Nanshi, Laocheng and Juiyi street, among which wandezhuang outside Nanmen is the largest real estate in Tianjin, with thousands of rooms. It was built by Wang who bought land and filled it with soil. He also has three vacant lots in the urban area of Tianjin, about 110 mu, which he could not develop after he bought them. The scale of its investment is too large, so it can also reflect the huge scale of its search on the stage.
It's hard to count how much wealth Wang Zhanyuan possessed. It was estimated that it was 30 million yuan at that time. Zhao Shixian records that Wang has a wife and four concubines, and the annual cost of living is as high as 300000 yuan. He laments the extravagant life of the Wang family. Indeed, it was quite different from the hard-working masses in that time.
As a landlord and gentry, Wang Zhanyuan also participated in some charity activities in Tianjin in his later years. In 1931, in the name of Prince Chun, he served as director of Tianjin Flood Relief Committee and member of Tianjin charity Committee. He is also a member of the provincial flood relief branch of Hebei Province. In the summer of 1933, the flood disaster in western Shandong suffered heavy losses. Wang Zhanyuan and other 16 celebrities from Tianjin and Shandong jointly sent a letter to Tianjin Chamber of Commerce in May 1934 in the name of Shandong Flood Relief Association for fellow townsmen in Tianjin to urge donations, contributing to the disaster relief in their hometown.
After Wang Zhanyuan returned from the war, he bought a wide range of real estate in Beijing, Tianjin, Dalian, Baoding and other places, renting 3000 houses in Tianjin alone. In addition, he also invested in industry, involving finance, minerals, textiles, grain, electricity and so on, becoming a famous industrialist.
