Navy martyrs cemetery in Guangzhou
The Navy Guangzhou martyrs cemetery is located in the courtyard of No. 170 Junxue Road, Changzhou street, Huangpu District. It is west to East. In 1994, the Guangzhou Municipal People's government and the Navy Guangzhou base were built to commemorate the martyrs who died in the first battle of the PLA Navy in 1950, the liberation of the Wanshan Islands (the Wanshan sea battle). It was completed on April 1, 1995, covering an area of about 1000 square meters.
On the first floor of the cemetery are the stone statues and inscriptions of the Wanshan naval battle. The contents of the inscriptions are the brief introduction of the Wanshan battle. The main entrance of the second floor is the stone wall of "Navy Guangzhou martyrs cemetery", inscribed by Comrade ye Xuanping. On the front stone wall of the third floor, there is an inscription by Liu Huaqing, former commander of the Navy: "the martyrs of the Wanshan sea battle are immortal"; on the right side, there is a bronze statue and inscription of Lin Wenhu, a naval battle hero; on the left side, there are 24 tombstones of martyrs who died in the Wanshan sea battle.
