Fossil trench
Located in the Junggar basin, it used to be a vast ocean with dense primeval forest on the bank. After several changes in the back crust, a large area of forests and other animals and plants were deeply buried in the ground, and then came back to the surface after fossilization. In this fossil ditch, there are spectacular silicified wood forests, various tree seed fossils, fruit fossils and various animal fossils.

The site of Gaochang Uighur Royal Buddhist Temple (xidasi) is locally known as "xidasi". It is located about 700 meters to the west of the old city of Beiting. The grand scale of its architecture and exquisite plastic arts are the only similar sites in Northern Xinjiang. The temple faces south, with main hall, East and west auxiliary hall, etc. It is 70.5 meters long from north to south, 43.8 meters wide from east to west, and more than 14 meters high. In the Dongpei hall, there is a 13 meter long Sleeping Buddha, head north, foot south, sleeping peacefully. There is also a large mural of "fenreli painting", which is well preserved. On the east side of the main hall, 15 niches have been repaired, and each cave has Buddha statues and murals. The size of the Buddha statue in the niche is similar to that of a real person. Most of the murals contain the images of the people supported by the Gaochang Uighur royal family and their lives and tours. The center of the main hall of the Buddhist temple is about 10 meters high. The Xida temple in Beiting was built in the 10th century A.D. in Gaochang Uighur period and destroyed in the early Ming Dynasty.
