Historical evolution
From 143 BC to 141 BC, Weng, the prefect of Shu County, founded Weng's stone chamber, which was the first local government school in China. Soon after its founding, Weng Shishi was famous for its outstanding style of study and talents. In 124 BC, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty ordered the whole country to follow Weng's example and set up schools. Two hundred years later, a fire broke out during the reign of emperor an in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and the stone chamber and Chengdu City were seriously damaged. It was not until 194 A.D. that Gao, the governor of Shu, restored it. In the same year, the famous "Prefecture seizing the Prefecture School" event happened, and Shishi was turned into Yizhou Prefecture School.
After A.D. 994, Shu began to publish the stone scriptures in the stone room. In the Northern Song Dynasty, it continued to make up the stone scriptures. It was not until Xuanhe that all the thirteen scriptures were engraved.
At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, Zhang Xianzhong occupied Shu.
In 1661, the government set up a government school on the site of Weng Shishi. In the three hundred years of the Qing Dynasty, Sichuan schools actually took this as the first.
During the reign of Kangxi, Liu Defang, the governor of Sichuan Province, built Jinjiang academy here. In 1902, CEN Chunxuan, the governor of Sichuan Province, changed it into Chengdu normal school. After the implementation of guimao education system, it was changed into Chengdu Fu Zhong school. After the revolution of 1911, it was renamed Chengdu United middle school.
In February 1940, the school changed its name to Shishi middle school in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
In 1948, it was rated as the national excellent model middle school.
In September 1952, after the founding of the people's Republic of China, the school was renamed Chengdu NO.4 middle school.
In the cultural revolution, Shishi middle school was destroyed for the third time, and all the buildings built in Qing Dynasty no longer exist.
In April 1983, the old name of Shishi middle school was restored.

Ah, stone chamber. WenWeng always has a great cause, and his style of study is brilliant both in ancient and modern times.

influence
Wen Weng Shi Shi Shi Shi Shi was founded as a public school. It was run by the government and recruited students from the common people. This is an epoch-making thing in Chinese history. "Hanshu" clearly recorded: "to Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, it was the order that all prefectures and states in the world set up school officials, starting with Wen Weng." Before Wen Weng, there were no "public schools" in China's local governments. Wen Weng was the first local government to set up "public schools". At that time, the "central government" where "Kyoto" was located did not run "public schools" to recruit civilians. It can be seen that Wen Weng actually founded "public schools" in China. Weng's establishment of "public schools" was praised by the two highest leaders of China at that time, Emperor Jingdi and Emperor Wudi of Han Dynasty, and ordered all counties and counties in the country to establish "public schools" like Weng, which greatly promoted the development of China's education, which is unprecedented in the history of world education. It can be seen that Weng Weng's historical status of "original" and "leading" is unshakable.
In the education volume of Encyclopedia of China, 29 ancient Chinese educators were selected. Among them, "Weng Weng" wrote: "the prefect of Shu County in the Western Han Dynasty, the originator of county studies in the Han Dynasty." "Weng Weng's achievements not only cultivated a number of officials, such as Zhang Shu, who was a doctor in the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, but also promoted the establishment of schools in neighboring counties, such as" Ba Han also established literature. ". After that, Sima Xiangru, Yang Xiong and other famous scholars appeared in Shu, which had something to do with the social atmosphere caused by Wen Weng's education. Emperor Jing praised Wen Weng for starting his school and "made all prefectures and countries in the world set up literature". Emperor Wu ordered "all prefectures and countries in the world set up school officials.". Weng Weng's school establishment is actually the beginning of the establishment of schools by local governments in Chinese history. "
Emperor Wu's literary achievements
So where does a better world come from? Is it from princes or subjects? Should the latter improve itself first If this situation should be established by the princes, then the education of the monarchs must be improved first.
Rediscover
Generally speaking, WenWeng was born in the "rule of Wenjing". It was a period of political peace in Chinese history, which was often compared with the rule of Zhenguan. It was defined as a prosperous period of production development, social stability and national prosperity in Chinese history. After the chaos at the turn of Qin and Han Dynasties, the two emperors, Wen and Jing, took Huang Lao's thought of inaction as their national policy, and implemented a recuperation policy of paying less taxes and paying less attention to corvee, striking out troops and being thrifty. Finally, the national strength of the Han Dynasty was rapidly strong, the people's life was abundant, and the society was stable. Some people even think that the reason why Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was able to display his great talents was only the natural result of the rule of literature and scenery.
WenWeng Heritage
The legacy left by Wen Weng is not only a move to set up a school, not just a stone chamber, but also a system of rich cultural significance. The core part of this system is of course its contribution to the integration and transformation of China's feudal powers, as well as its inspiration to the western civil service system: Wen Weng's setting up a school is a symbol in the process of world civilization.
WenWeng and the world
In the history of cultural exchange between China and the West in modern times, the University of Paris, the headquarters of French Sinology, plays a very important role. In 1333, Nicholas, Professor of Theology at the University of Paris, arrived in Beijing as the second Archbishop of the pope in China. In 1814, the University of Paris opened the course of Chinese linguistics. Understanding such a cultural background, it is not difficult to understand such a Chinese fan as Chirac and his Chinese cultural complex.
