Chunyang Palace
Chunyang palace, also known as luzu temple, is located in Yingze District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. It was originally built by Lu Dongbin, a Taoist in Tang Dynasty, which was dedicated to the "immortal" of Taoism. It was first built in Yuan Dynasty. During the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty (1573-1691), it was expanded. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty (1736-1795), governor Guo Jin and fan Chaosheng from Taigu successively invested in the expansion, adding three floors of Weige. Chunyang palace is named after the worship of LV Dongbin.

Chunyang Palace "Chunyang" is the name of Dongbin, and "Palace" is the palace for worshiping gods. Chunyang palace is named after the worship of LV Dongbin. Also known as luzu temple. It was first built in the Yuan Dynasty, rebuilt in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573-1620), and renovated and expanded in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty (1736-1795).

Chunyang palace is a five entrance courtyard with temple and garden style. There are all kinds of pavilions in the courtyard. In front of the door, there is a wooden square with four pillars and three floors. Its shape and color are unique and eye-catching. Luzu hall is the main hall of Chunyang palace. It is located in the center of the courtyard. It is three rooms wide and square. It is the most spectacular building in the palace. The building pattern behind the palace is quite unique. It is said to be built in the direction of eight diagrams, with distinctive Taoist architectural features and the essence of the whole palace of pure Yang.
Chunyang palace covers a small area of land, and it is praised by the world for its ingenious layout. The two courtyards in the back are pavilions. They are well arranged, twists and turns. When you wander here, you feel like "mountains are heavy, rivers are complex, there is no way to go, and there is another village with hidden willows and bright flowers". Wei Pavilion in the backyard is the highest building in the temple. When you climb the pavilion and look around, you will be placed on top of the jade buildings. The unique layout is rare in the temple.
The main buildings of Chunyang Palace are: luzu hall, square single room cloister Pavilion and Weige Pavilion. Houses and brick caves were built around. The front courtyard is also a pavilion style building, with square angle on the plane and octagonal pavilion on the four corners, which is more elegant. After liberation, rockery was added, and the pavilion of Guan Gong and stele gallery were built.
Chunyang palace complex is a unique example of Taoist architectural culture, with rigorous layout, numerous types, stone pavilions and alternate halls and buildings. Now it is the Art Museum of Shanxi Province.
Chunyang palace was also the site of Shanxi Provincial Museum before it moved out.
