At the beginning of its construction, only the main part was completed. Then in 1873, a colonnade, an archway and a neoclassical triangular lintel were added to the front of the entrance. It used to be the Great Hall of Portuguese in Macao and the gathering place of native Portuguese. In addition to the theater, the building also has a dance hall, reading room and billiard room, so there is a wave of Gangding building.
