Feilai bell used to be the ancient bell of Chongsheng Temple in Junshan. In 1245 A.D., Meng Gong, the pacifier of Jinghu, copied one bell when he rebuilt Chongsheng temple. The bell is more than one Zhang high and weighs more than 4000 Jin. On the bell, there are 16 characters: "long live the Emperor, peace of the country and the people, good weather and good harvest". The four protruding parts are cast in bronze Golden Dragon, lifelike, lifelike form. The original clock was smashed in 1966. The Feilai clock was copied by the municipal valve factory in 1979. It is about 2 meters high, 1.2 meters in diameter and weighs about 2 tons. The battle slogan of Zhong Xiang and Yang Yao's uprising "equal the rich and the poor, equal the noble and the humble" is cast on the bell, which is more profound than the former.

This ancient bell has a beautiful legend. It is said that in the early years of the Southern Song Dynasty, hundreds of thousands of farmers along the Dongting Lake led by Yang Yao set off a vigorous peasant uprising. It is said that one night, the imperial court sent troops to attack Yang yaozhai, which was stationed in Junshan. Suddenly, a huge bell came from the sky. The sound of the bell reminded the volunteers to rise up against the enemy, so it was called Feilai bell. This is that people deeply cherish the memory of Yang Yao's uprising army and express their admiration in various ways. The legend of the ancient bell reposes people's feelings. Some people think that the original Feilai bell was made by Yang Yao's rebellion army.

It is said that there is an old man living in the sky, and all his seven daughters are married. One day, the old man pinched his fingers and made a sweat. Three days later, he was going to see the king of hell. So he called seven sons in law and said, "my birthday is here. I have a golden bell hidden in the cold Valley cave. Tomorrow, I want to carry it home with you. I'll make seven small clocks and share them with you. " Seven son-in-law listen to like eating a piece of fat, Zizi.

When the eldest son-in-law came home, he felt that there was a fly in the ointment: I had the largest number of seven. Why should they share the same score with me? As the saying goes: strong in its own strong hand, capable people behind the capable people. The second son-in-law decided to chop with an axe. He sharpened his axe all night. The next day, seven sons-in-law followed the old man to the cold Valley cave. They saw the Golden Bell and ten people couldn't pick it up. A few people each hold one side and stick the stick under the clock. But the eldest son-in-law and the second son-in-law looked at the glittering light of the clock, and their eyes were straight. They dropped their sticks, one took out a file, the other took out an ax, and tried their best to file and chop. "Are you ready?" the old man asked The five sons in law said in unison, "all right!" The eldest son-in-law was filing hard, but the second son-in-law was about to cut a big piece. They didn't hear the old man at all. At the old man's command, as soon as everyone used the stick, Admiralty fell to the two sons-in-law. They fell into the lower bound together.

The big clock is floating. In addition to floating the two sons-in-law left drowned in Taizhou Dongcheng River, it flew to a temple in the city. The monks carried it to the bell tower and called it "flying bell".
