In March 1984, the Shanghai Municipal People's government announced that the landing site of the Japanese army was "the memorial site of the Japanese imperialist invasion of Shanghai" in order to keep the aggressors' crimes in mind for generations. In September 1985, the people's Government of Jinshan County built a stele and a pavilion here for people to pay homage to. On the front of the granite stele, "the landing place of Japanese invaders at the South Gate of Jinshan Acropolis" was engraved. On the back of the stele, the tragic historical facts of Japanese occupation of Jinshan Acropolis were recorded in detail.
