DXY, formerly known as dingxiangyuan medical literature retrieval network and dingxiangyuan medical homepage, was founded on July 23, 2000 by Li Tiantian. It is a medical knowledge sharing website.

When Li Tiantian, the founder of the website, was a graduate student, he felt that quite a number of Chinese medical college students were unfamiliar with computers, even some graduate students and medical workers. It was even more difficult to find useful information in the vast Internet information resources. Therefore, the idea of establishing a professional search website came into being to introduce the search experience, teach the search methods and skills, and popularize knowledge sharing. In April 2018, it was reported that dingxiangyuan had completed round D financing, and the amount of this round of financing was more than US $100 million. After the completion of financing, the valuation of dingxiangyuan reached US $1 billion.

In May 2002, dingxiangyuan forum was officially established. May is the season for lilacs to bloom. Inadvertently, such a common flower has become the most famous name in literature retrieval, knowledge dissemination and biomedical websites in the next few years.

In August 2003, the independent mainframe of dingxiangyuan was put into use, the life science specialty was built, and the pure academic exchange was established as the soul of dingxiangyuan.

Since 2013, dingxiangyuan has accelerated its expansion and launched a number of pharmaceutical apps.

In early 2017, Lilly China, Tencent and dingxiangyuan announced that they would jointly develop and launch a diabetes care and support project - "Lilly diabetes Youxing care project". The three also declared that this is "a unique strategic cooperation in the field of diabetes".

In January 2018, clove open class, which is positioned as "dingxiangyuan's clinician online education platform", was officially launched on dingxiangyuan app. Since the launch of clove open class on PC in August 2016, more than 1.5 million users have studied on the platform for 1 million + hours.

In January 2019, Ding Xiangyuan and health news announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement to carry out in-depth cooperation on content production, industry services, product operation and other aspects. Dingxiangyuan was born to give Chinese life science professionals a platform for professional exchange and a home for emotional exchange. As of April 2018, dingxiangyuan has 5.5 million professional users, including 2 million doctor users. Its business can be roughly divided into four parts: Doctor end, public / patient end, medical institution end and commercial service end.

Dingxiangyuan has lilac talent network, dingxiangtong, lilac customer, medication assistant, lilac doctor, PubMed Chinese network, investigation group, lilac conference and other products. I believe these products will better serve all members on this platform.

Dingxiangyuan biomedical science and technology network gathers more than 3.5 million medical, pharmaceutical and life science professionals, adding 30000 members every month, most of which are concentrated in the top three hospitals in large and medium-sized cities and provincial capital cities in China, and more than 70% of the members have master's or doctor's degrees. Financing process

In January 2010, it obtained a round a investment of US $2 million from DCM, which was incorporated into Hangzhou high tech Zone (Binjiang) and invested by the venture capital guidance fund established by Hangzhou municipal government;

In December 2012, round B financing was completed, with the amount of about US $10 million, and all funds have been in place. This round of financing was led by Shunwei fund and followed by DCM. DCM participated in round a financing of dingxiangyuan in 2010.

In September 2014, Ding Xiangyuan, a medical and health website, announced that it had obtained a strategic investment of US $70 million from Tencent. After the completion of the investment, dingxiangyuan will carry out multi platform cooperation with Tencent, including the docking of wechat and mobile QQ. According to reports, Tencent will obtain a minority stake in dingxiangyuan after discount and full dilution, and the transaction is expected to be completed this month.
