Four towers

Located in the northeast of Pinggu District, Beijing, the four towers mountain is the junction of the three communes of zhenluoying, xiongerzhai and huangsongyu. The mountainous area has sparse vegetation and serious soil erosion, which is a debris flow prone area. There are small tungsten mines in the North foothills, and pears and red fruits are produced in the nearby mountains.

brief introduction

Four building mountains are fault block mountains formed by Yanshan. It is about 20 kilometers from the southwest to Pinggu County. The peak is 1062 meters above sea level and belongs to the northeast mountainous area. It is still in the stage of unofficial tourism development. About 20km gravel soil road near the top of the mountain. Along the ridge of the Great Wall, there are four enemy towers, so it is called four tower mountain. The top of the mountain is gentle. Four buildings are built here. The four enemy towers are arranged from east to west, 60 to 80 meters apart from each other and connected by a city wall. The enemy tower is a brick and stone structure with a side length of four meters and a square shape. It is divided into upper and lower floors. The lower floor can accommodate several people. The upper floor has a lookout hole and an archery crenel. It was a garrison post guarding the border in ancient times.

At present, only three of the four buildings remain. The easternmost one was demolished during the construction of station 2008, and the wall between the buildings was also demolished. All the bricks and stones were used for station 2008. As a result of age, the existing three enemy buildings have been damaged to varying degrees, some of them collapsed at the top and some of them cracked. Although some of them were damaged, these three enemy towers are still standing on the top of the mountains like loyal sentinels

Features of scenic spots

Four towers mountain is named after four Ming Dynasty enemy towers on the top of the mountain. It is a cultural relic protection unit at district level. The four towers mountain is the highest peak of Pinggu (1063 meters).

The scenic spot is steep, protruding above the surrounding peaks, and there are many cliffs in the mountains. It is a fault block mountain formed since Yanshanian. The scenic area covers an area of 800 hectares, with 245 hectares of tourist area and 70 hectares of central forest area. It is a municipal nature reserve. The forest coverage rate is 95%, and the soil is mainly brown soil. The reserve is rich in plant resources and animal species. Over 900 meters above sea level, Tilia amurensis, Tilia amurensis, Quercus liaotungensis and other natural secondary forests are dominant; below 500 meters above sea level, Quercus Quercus, Vitex shrub and white grass and yellow grass communities are widely distributed; 200 hectares of natural Platycladus orientalis with hundreds of years of age grow in beishuiyu area. According to the records of flora of Beijing and incomplete statistics, there are more than 500 kinds of plants and 300 kinds of terrestrial vertebrates in sizoulou nature reserve. Among them, there are 6 kinds of national key protected animals. In 1989 and 2003, leopard and Wild Sika deer were found in sizoulou forest area.

On the mountain, the pines are high, the forest is dense, the pines are in waves, and the climate is cool. In summer, with the high wind from cool, into the forest heat all disappear. The whole forest area is a good place for bathing because of its fragrant smell which is beneficial to human health. In summer, the daytime temperature is about 18-22 ℃ and the night temperature is 10-14 ℃. More suitable for summer, no mosquitoes. There is also natural mineral water in the mountains. In autumn, there are many flowers and fragrant wild flowers.

Another feature of the scenic spot is its many precipices. Such as: jiguanya, bailinggou, late accession to the throne, manshigou, yixifeng, zimushi and so on. There are hammocks, cabins, merchandise, guest rooms, restaurants and small meeting rooms in the scenic area. Another feature of the territory is that there are many precipices, and there are still three Ming Dynasty enemy towers on the top of the mountain.

Transportation: take no.918 to Pinggu at Dongzhimen and rent a car in the county. You can drive from Jingshun road under Sanyuan bridge to Pinggu County, and then northbound to Xiong'er village.
