Baishuitai, located at the foot of Haba snow mountain, is a natural wonder formed by the dissolution of calcium carbonate in spring water. Because the shape is like terraces, it is called "immortal left field", covering an area of about 3 square kilometers. It is the largest HuaQuan terrace in China.
Baishuitai is the holy land of Dongba religion in Naxi. On the eighth day of the second lunar month every year, it is the Naxi's annual "pilgrimage to Baishui". Baishuitai
Baishuitai is located at the foot of Haba snow mountain, Baidi village, Sanba Township, Southeast of Shangri La County. It is 101 kilometers away from the county and 2380 meters above sea level. It is the birthplace of Naxi Dongba religion.
It is a natural wonder formed by the dissolution of calcium carbonate in spring water. The spring water containing calcium bicarbonate flows down slowly, and the carbonate precipitates gradually. Over the years, the platform mantle is formed, which looks like layers of terraces. It is called "immortal legacy field", covering an area of about 3 square kilometers. It is the largest HuaQuan platform in China.
Name source
From a distance, the white water platform in the green hills is really like terraced fields. In the sunshine, it looks like a waterfall in a photographic work. A foot on the white stone steps, speechless cool and happy.
Baishuitai is called "shibuzhi" in Naxi language, which means gradually growing flowers. Baishuitai has the reputation of "immortal left field". Walking on the terrace, you can see the white water terrace layer upon layer. It's like a piece of slanting moon scattered in the world. It's also like the silver ornaments of Naxi girls. They are stacked into countless silver rings, shining in the morning and evening. The silver light scattering gives people the freshness of throwing gold and cutting jade. On the left side, a spring terrace looks like a crescent moon. It is said that it is the place where fairies make up. The stone dome on the lower left side of Quantai, white as jade and shaped like a pregnant woman, is the place where the local people worship the reproductive God. Baishuitai is not only a place with beautiful scenery, but also the birthplace center of Dongba religion of Naxi nationality, where religious activities and ethnic programs are held.
Geography and climate
Baishuitai is about 2380 meters above sea level, and its shape is like terraces. The cause of formation is that the calcium bicarbonate in the water is irradiated by sunlight and evaporated to form calcium carbonate white sediment, which then continuously covers the surface of the earth and forms the spring land. Therefore, it is one of the largest spring platforms in China.
Baishuitai covers an area of 3 square kilometers. It has a temperate climate with more rainfall and an average annual temperature of 11.4 ℃. This is one of the birthplaces of Naxi culture in China. According to textual research, Baishuitai was originally worshipped as a God. It is said that Ding bashiro, the first ancestor of Dongba religion of Naxi nationality, came back from studying Buddhist scriptures in Tibet. He was attracted by the beautiful scenery of Baishuitai and stayed to set up an altar to preach. Therefore, he is a sacred place for Dongba believers of Naxi nationality. The Naxi people's houses, costumes and handicrafts nearby are also very distinctive.
historical origin
As early as the Tang and Song Dynasties, Baishuitai has become a famous tourist attraction in western Yunnan. On the stone wall of the source, there is a poem inscribed by Mu Gao, the local magistrate of Naxi in the Ming Dynasty: "five hundred years ago, a line of monks lived in the Buddha's land to guard Hongneng. There are three thousand ridges of clouds and snow, and tens of thousands of ridges of jade and silver. The river is a jade in the heart forever. I admire this master for his excellence. " On the lower left side of the spring platform, there is a natural statue, white as jade and shaped like a pregnant woman. The local people regard it as a "goddess" of reproduction. Not far from the eastbound Baidi village, there is a waterfall more than 60 meters high, which is worth watching.
legend
According to legend, Dongba Shiluo, the ancestor of Dongba, practiced Taoism in Baishuitai, so it was regarded as Dongba Daochang. Every year on the eighth day of the second lunar month, the local Tibetan, Naxi, Yi, Bai, Susu and other ethnic groups go to Baishuitai for sacrificial activities to entertain the gods with songs and dances. Baishuitai is an important tourist attraction in Diqing plateau.
According to legend, in order to let the Naxi people learn how to make farmland, the two gods of the Naxi people specially changed such a "terraced field", so there is another saying of "immortal land".

Dongba Culture
Shangri la county is a Tibetan inhabited area, but near Lijiang Dagu area, there are more Naxi people, and it is the birthplace of Naxi "Dongba culture". Dongba religion is an ancient religion of Naxi people. "Dongba" can be translated as "mountain chanters". Some of them are "wise men" in their own nation. According to legend, in the middle of the 11th century AD, there was dingba Shiluo (dingba, Tibetan, meaning ancestor; Shiluo, name), spreading Dongba religion near Baidi. He and his disciples wrote Dongba scriptures in hieroglyphics for the first time, which opened up a new situation for the development of Dongba religion and was regarded as the founder of Dongba religion by later generations. Up to now, there are records about his life experience and legend in Dongba Scripture. After thousands of years of enrichment and development, Dongba Scripture has become a treasure house of Naxi ancient culture. It is said that Baidi cave, where bashiro practiced and preached, is also regarded as the "spiritual cave"; Baidi cave, where dinbashiro mainly lived, is also regarded as the "holy land". Every year in the middle of spring, on the eighth day of the second month of the lunar calendar, the nearby residents often come to worship, and Dongba in the distance also comes to worship. People "do not care about a hundred miles to come, drink and offer tea, and no more than a thousand people get together" (manuscript of Zhongdian Fu Zhi by Guangxu). Year after year, they follow each other's custom, and the eighth day of the second month becomes a spring festival in Sanba.
As far as most people are concerned, it's better to enjoy the magnificent scenery and the fun of life near Lingdong rather than the pilgrimage to Lingdong. Baishuitai is at the foot of the snow mountain at the west end of Baidi gorge in Sanba, Shangri La County. When you climb over many mountains and come to the ridge of Baidi gorge, the first thing you can see is that there is a huge jade mirror and silver screen inlaid on the towering green mountains, which is shining and dazzling. Gradually, gradually, gradually clear. It turns out that this crystal clear and dazzling screen is like thousands of Qiongtai jade steps, and also like thousands of clouds and snow waves. From bottom to top, one by one, one by one, clouds and snow are piled up, pure white as grease, lustrous as jade, and spotless. On the table, some are like scales and waves, with twists and turns; some are like silver rings rolling and interlocking; some are like silk fans spreading flat, with creases everywhere; some are like petals joining together to form various kinds of exotic flowers; some are like terraces and terraces. On the left side, there is a 20 meter high "waterfall"; at the bottom, there is a crescent shaped spring platform with a width of about half an acre. The spring water is clear and clear, and there is a natural statue in the spring, just like a young girl taking a photo beside the spring, wrapped in gauze and plain, beautiful and beautiful. The local people call it "goddess".

The head of Baishuitai is a flat land with a circumference of about one hundred Li. In the middle of it, there is a "heaven and earth" composed of more than 10 springs and pools in series. Along the platform, you will get to the source. Under a luxuriant oil-green willow tree, the spring water gushes out and accumulates into a small pool, with sky light, cloud shadow, mountain flowers and jungle setting off against each other. The spring water flows from the pool to the "Tianchi", and then from the top of the platform, across the Silver Ridge and jade mound, and slowly down the slope. The clear spring and the white bottom melt into one color, like flowing silver milk. Close observation shows that the spring is filled with countless crystal small white sand, shining in the sun . Although the grains are small, they keep flowing. This silver world is all masterpieces of nature! Not far from the source of northbound, there is a black rock lying horizontally, engraved with a cliff poem, about 70 cm long and 70 cm wide, 9 lines and 9 characters. The text is seven rhythms: five hundred years ago, Yixing monk once lived in the Buddha's land to guard Hongneng.

The Yangtze River will always be the jade of Xintian. I admire this master.
At the end of the poem, "Jiajing Jiayin, the master of the Yangtze River, wrote about Lida's meditation place.". Jiayin of Jiajing was in 1554 A.D., which dates back 500 years, that is 1054 A.D. Although it is possible to give an account of this, but who knows that in the middle of the Northern Song Dynasty, the founder of Dongba religion practiced and preached here; this "Shi Lida" is Ding bashluo; "master of the Yangtze River", that is, Mu Gao, who just took his father's post, was young and arrogant, but not master of the Yangtze River ". On the left of it is a cliff poem with seven characters and four sentences, which is signed as "Zijin Zun □ Jiayin". This "Zijin Zun" is still the name of Mu gaobie. On the stone drum stele, there is a poem inscribed with "Zijin master, the great general who went to the West of Rizhen in mid spring of the 27th year of emperor Jiajing's reign (1584)". Mugao, the governor of Lijiang, made a pilgrimage to the "holy land" more than 400 years ago and wrote poems on the cliffs, which shows that Baidi has a long history of being valued by the world.
