The predecessor of Sichuan Vocational College of health and rehabilitation was Renji nursing school founded by Christian Church of Canada in 1918. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it changed its name several times and changed its name to Zigong Health School of Sichuan Province in 1953. In February 2012, with the approval of Sichuan Provincial People's government, Sichuan health rehabilitation vocational college was established on the basis of the former Zigong health school. In January 2014, Zigong municipal Party committee and municipal government took the first and fourth people's hospitals of Zigong as the affiliated hospitals of the college, forming the operation system of "one school and two affiliated hospitals". The college is a public college, which mainly implements higher medical and health vocational education at the junior college level.

Renji nursing school

In 1918, the nursing training class of Ziliujing yutaishan hospital was founded.

In 1929, the nursing training class of Ziliujing yutaishan hospital was renamed as the nursing class of Renji men's and women's hospital.

In 1937, the nursing class of Renji men's and women's hospital was closed.

In 1939, the nursing class of Renji men's and women's hospital was reopened and renamed Renji senior nursing vocational school.

In 1945, Renji senior nursing vocational school was renamed as Zigong private Yiji senior nursing vocational school.

In 1952, Zigong private Yiji senior nurse vocational school and South Sichuan Medical cadre school (founded in 1951) merged to form Zigong health school.

In 1953, Zigong health school and Neijiang nursing school merged to form Zigong health school in Sichuan Province.

In 1954, Zigong health school was renamed as Zigong nursing school.

In 1955, Sichuan Zigong nursing school (part) was merged into Sichuan nursing school, and now it is developed into Chengdu University

In 2012, Zigong health school was upgraded to Sichuan health rehabilitation vocational college.
