Xuanlong Temple

From Xuanlong temple to Yuanjue temple, you can pass through Juxian bridge. Xuanlong temple was originally named xuanzhu temple and Menghua temple. In the Tang Dynasty, it was the monastic ancestral hall of Nanzhao, and after the song and Yuan Dynasties, it was changed into a Taoist temple. There are many palaces in the temple, such as the Jade Emperor Pavilion, the three palaces, the luzu hall, the Guansheng hall, the God of wealth hall, and so on. Inside and outside the temple, the pines and cypresses are tall and straight, and the scenery is quiet. To the north of the main hall are Guansheng, luzu, Guanyin halls, Miluo palace, Bajiao building and Zen hall. Its layout is opposite to the East-West central axis. According to the terrain, it adopts the horizontal arrangement of three platforms from south to north, with two routes interspersed with seven courtyards, most of which are small landscape. The gate and main hall are the best buildings in Xuanlong temple. The gate is a single eaves archway on the top of Xieshan mountain. It is three rooms wide. Ruyi Dougong is applied under the front and rear eaves. The workmanship of Dougong is very fine. The main hall is built on a platform more than two meters high, with a single eaves resting on the top of the mountain. It is three rooms wide. In front of it is a corridor, and under the eaves is a seven step bucket arch. The whole building is magnificent. In 1981, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit by Weishan County People's government

Xuanlong Temple

Xuanlong temple, also known as Xiaosi, formerly known as xuanzhu temple, is located on xuanzhu mountain in the east of Weishan County, Yunnan Province.

Historical evolution

Xuanlong temple was the Menghua ancestral hall of Nanzhao in Tang Dynasty, and changed to Taoist temple after song and Yuan Dynasty. Every year on the ninth day of the first lunar month, Yuanjue temple and Yuanjue temple are called "big and small temple", which is one of the 16 scenic spots in Menghua. Xuanlong temple is built close to the mountain, with a construction area of more than 300 square meters of the big temple, so it is "small temple is not small".

Layout structure

Xuanlong temple is a grand temple with many terraces and pavilions. Its layout is contrary to the North-South central axis. It adopts the horizontal arrangement of three terraces from west to East, with two lines interspersed with seven courtyards and many small gardens. Temple palace audience, there are four Shuai hall, Yuhuangge, the Holy Father hall.
